That's good from Stokes, he hasn't found any rhythm or momentum but he got his feet going there - and it nearly hit the cameraman.

More left-arm spin in the form of slightly-built, neatly bearded Mohammad Nawaz. Stokes takes a step down the pitch and thumps him dismissively over long-on for six. His 33rd ball and first non-single.

Tom Holmes: England should be looking at 350 from here. A run a ball only gets them 300 and that should be the bare minimum.
Roy 86, Stokes 11
Thanks Stephan. Mohammad Amir back in the attack after an opening four-over burst of 1-26. Floodlights still on and much of a decent crowd are wrapped up in hearty jackets. Stokes still keeping his powder dry and content to deal in singles. The 150 arrives, the slowest 50 of the innings so far, this last one has taken 58 balls.
Still Imad, the miser, with even Jason Roy unable to engage in some biffery. Big turn, Roy fortunate to edge for a couple. Halfway point, so I'm out of here. Jamie Lillywhite is the new gaffer.

England placed nicely but I think this partnership really needs to drive forward to allow for an acceleration at the end.
Jason Roy certainly has enough time for a biggie and seems interested in little else than whacking the leather off the ball. Giving himself room against Shoaib, he lofts another straight six over the shorter boundary. At the other end, investigations are under way as to who has disguised himself to look like Ben Stokes.
Roy 73, Stokes 9
Stokes tries to solve the Imad conundrum with a little dancing, but singles remain the order of the day. It's been really good stuff from the tall, deliberate Imad. Occasional flight, bit of turn, a dart when needed. His five overs have cost only 12 runs.

Just thinking about a score for England, 300 is very possible. Roy is still going well but has looked a little scratchy at times.
Very un-Stokes-like from Stokes at the moment. Uncertainty against the spin, strike-rate down in the low 30s. Then again, I remember him starting reasonably slowly before belting that 258 against South Africa. Eeessshh. Sweep from Roy, just short of the man at fine leg. Pakistan might be thinking a few other things could have gone their way here.
Iamd 4-0-10-1
Ooooffff. Confusion, Ben Stokes having to dive back into his ground after Jason Roy sends him back. Even without some iffy running, Imad is continuing to cause problems. Some than turn, some that skid on, challenging both edges. Only three singles from the set.

Roy is utterly confident that with anything like a good strike he can clear the man at long-on.
Roy 68, Stokes 6
Ben Stokes breathes heavily, then settles into his stance with tattoos pointing in the direction of Shoaib Malik. While he has looked scratchy, Jason Roy continues to look in good shape, dancing to loft straight over the short boundary for the first maximum of the day. Even when wickets are falling, New England don't bother with anything other than fifth gear.
Eng 113-3
Yep, just pitched outside leg stump by about half a ball's width. Wasn't even umpire's call. Imad, though, is all over Stokes here.
Eng 112-3
Now then. Ben Stokes reverse-sweeping Imad. Not out, but very, very close. Another look. Pitched outside leg?

Roy's half century came from 49 balls and it is his eighth time passing 50 in ODIs, three of which he turned into hundreds.
Frantic stuff out there. Spinners rattling through the overs, chances coming, boundaries. Roy sweeps Malik for four, then clips aerially past the diving mid-wicket fielder. In the dugout, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah are having a right old chinwag.
