Congratulations to Pakistan on a fine consolation victory, with Wales-born Imad Wasim hitting the winning runs in Cardiff. England cannot say they are unbeaten at home this summer in ODIs, they will have to adjust that stat to unbeaten in eight matches IN England this summer. Cheerio now. 

There is a great moment for a spectator, who takes a superb catch leaning over an advertising hoarding to win a trip to Australia, and there is a great moment for the whole of Pakistan as Imad Wasim hits the winning runs with a boundary. 

England captain Eoin Morgan: "No regrets about the team - it was an opportunity to get Liam Dawson on the international stage, it was important looking ahead to the winter in case we go to three spinners that he had a game under his belt. I'm very proud of this group of players, they've been exceptional over the summer. We've lost the game today but still put in a reasonable performance."

Sarfraz and Malik both depart in the space of 15 balls, leaving a requirement of 47 from 60 balls with five wickets intact.

Man-of-the-match Sarfraz Ahmed put Pakistan in command, sharing 163 with Shoaib Malik, both players with a liberal sprinkling of boundaries.

Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali: "We wanted to finish on a high, we've had a tough tour, congratulations to England. It was a much needed victory and chasing 300 gave us much satisfaction. We didn't bowl well to start with but we held it back to a total that was reachable. We have a few youngsters coming in, there are a lot of positive signs, we just need to play good cricket consistently."

England batsman Joe Root: "You want to contribute every time you go out to the middle, the last two games it hasn't gone to plan for me but this is such an exciting side to play in. At no time did we stumble or take our foot off the gas.

"[The Trent Bridge ODI] was a great marker for us - it was a brilliant performance but we've still got areas where we can improve going into this winter and then the Champions Trophy. You want the guys to go out, express themselves and play their natural way. The more they can do that, the better."

Daniel Gurney: Great series. Well done England for putting more records on the board. What a year for England and a good day for Pakistan.

Pakistan wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed: "I'm really happy the team performed as it's been a tough series. The coach and captain told us if we played positively we had nothing to lose. We needed a partnership, we knew he [Dawson] was playing his first match so that's why we tried to play positively."

You can access clips of the match in your highlights tab but let's just take a look back at that Pakistan chase, the first time they have reached 300 in the series. Mark Wood gave England hope with the wickets of Babar Azam and Azhar Ali in the space of three balls.

Sarfraz Ahmed wins the man-of-the-match award for his robust 90 from 73 balls with 10 fours and a six. Joe Root collects the man-of-the-series prize for his 274 runs at an average of 54.80, though Sarfraz finishes as leading runscorer with 300 at an average of 60.

Defeat for Pakistan would have seen their fifth whitewash in their last 11 series, while England were seeking a 5-0 ODI series victory at home for the first time, with only one other 5-0 ODI series whitewash, in Zimbabwe in 2001.

It just shows you how the game's changed. 300 is now a comfortable score for teams to knock off, even a team that's been struggling.

Glamorgan-born Imad whips a low Jordan full toss through wide long-on to the boundary to win the match in style for Pakistan. As in the Test series they have won the final game of the series, although this is merely a consolation, England winning 4-1.
