"The only thing I'm looking at with 21 runs needed off 12 balls is a couple of quick boundaries and it's back in Notts' hands.

"Northants left a few runs out there earlier I felt and it might come back to bite them."

  2. wicket

WICKET Read (c White b Crook 30)published at 14:34 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 141-8 (18 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Chris Read goes for another big shot, but can't beat Graeme White on the long-on boundary off the bowling of Steven Crook.

Northants are rushing through these overs - they have just four minutes to start their last, or they'll be docked six runs for a slow over rate.

On a knife-edge this first semi-final, but some might argue it's just the warm-up act for the main event....

  4. dropped catch

Broad dropped by Levipublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 129-7 (17 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

If Northants don't win this, they'll have only themselves to blame as they drop yet another catch.

Richard Levi gets his hands to a Stuart Broad edge, but can't quite cling on jumping for the ball.

The required total is 32 from the last three overs.

  5. Keogh's stunning catch dismisses Russellpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

As I've just mentioned it, why not catch-up on arguably the most impressive bit of fielding of the day so far?

Rob Keogh spectacularly caught Nottinghamshire danger-man Andre Russell on the boundary for 39.

  6. dropped catch

Read dropped on 13published at 14:28 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 121-7 (16 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Chris Read has been dropped twice now, though both have been difficult chances.

It's almost an identical chance to the one he took to dismiss Andre Russell earlier, and this time Rob Keogh can't cling on on the mid-wicket boundary, pushing the ball over the rope for four.

Read moves onto 17 off 11 balls, with Stuart Broad also out there in the middle.

Start the car. Northants are in the final.

I am allowed to use that phrase aren't I?!

  9. wicket

WICKET Mullaney (c Duckett b Crook 10)published at 14:21 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 107-7 (14.2 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Steven Mullaney clears the long-off boundary with a six, but then gets out trying for another over deep mid-wicket.

Steven Crook has his second wicket of the innings, with the catch taken easily by Ben Duckett.

  10. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 101-6 (14 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

This Northants bowling performance is even more remarkable in light of the fact they're missing their leading wicket taker in the competition, Richard Gleeson.

Nottinghamshire are still fighting hard to turn things around, but they now need 61 to win off the last six overs.

It could have been worse - they almost lose a seventh wicket at the end of the 14th over, but Azharullah can't quite leap high enough to catch Chris Read on the edge of the circle.

"Steven Crook was someone who was doubtful going into this semi-final. It's good to see him out there having an impact for Northants.

"He almost missed out last year for the same reason and he'll be gritting his teeth getting through this right now."

  12. wicket

    WICKET Patel (c & b Crook 21)published at 14:14 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 92-6 (12.3 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Two wickets in quick succession, and it's another great catch from Northamptonshire.

Steven Crook sends one of his medium-pacers to Samit Patel, reacting sharply to snare the ball when it's hit straight back at him.

The Steelbacks have taken a huge stride towards the final.

"That mid-wicket region is such a big, big part of T20 cricket now.

"If you're a pace bowler or a spinner, you have to have that cover out there on the boundary. Great captaincy and great execution and that's before we even get to describing the stunning catch!"

  14. wicket

WICKET Russell (c Keogh b Kleinveldt 39)published at 14:12 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 90-5 (11.2 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

    Northants have got their man!

Andre Russell's sublime display of hitting comes to an end with 39 runs off 18 balls, caught brilliantly on the leg-side boundary by Rob Keogh.

Rory Kleinvedt was the bowler, but Keogh deserves almost all of the credit for that one.

"To be honest, I would go with my variations here to Andre Russell. If you try and bowl short and fast to him, you're going to go the distance.

"You have to trust your changes of pace against him."

20 from the over for Andre Russell, who is singlehandedly dragging Nottinghamshire towards their target.

The West Indies all-rounder can't run, but he's shown tremendous power and placement to get the ball to the boundary.

    Nottinghamshire 69-4 (10 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

    I spoke too soon.

Andre Russell gets going in style, launching two sixes into the crowd through the leg-side off the bowling of Graeme White.

Notts need 93 to win from these final 10 overs.

    Nottinghamshire 55-4 (9 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Just 10 runs in the 10 balls since Riki Wessels' dismissal - the required run rate is edging towards 10 an over now.

Andre Russell, perhaps because of that injury he's carrying, has yet to get going.
