Oh my word, what have we here?! About half-a-dozen jockeys and their 'horses' have just started bounding around the front of the Eric Hollies stand.

How many hours in are we now? Three? I'm guessing a few pints of the liquid nectar have been sunk. Everyone seems to be in fine voice, that's for sure.

"Northants are always finding a way to take that crucial wicket at the right time.

"Riki Wessels has gone for the reverse sweep there when he's got so many better options. He hits the ball hard enough without having to try and manufacture something like that."

    Nottinghamshire 45-4 (7.2 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Graeme White comes on to bowl a bit of spin for Northants, bringing almost instant results.

Riki Wessels goes on the attack, but doesn't get enough of the ball and is caught by Steven Crook on the boundary.

Andre Russell, still clearly bothered by a muscle problem he picked up in the field earlier, has come out to bat at number six.

  4. Postpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 45-3 (7 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Ben Sanderson has been impressive so far and he limits Notts to just seven runs from his third over.

It's remarkable how similar this innings has been to Northants', with both sides reduced to 15-3 before starting a middle-order fightback,

    James Taylor

"Say what you like about Samit Patel, but he absolutely loves playing in these big games on the big stages.

"He'll be absolutely desperate to put in a big performance here to get Nottinghamshire over the line and into the final."

  6. End of the powerplaypublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Nottinghamshire 38-3 (6 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Another good over for Nottinghamshire to end the powerplay, with Samit Patel finding the boundary before Riki Wessels hits two more fours off Azharullah.

Wessels, who played for Northants from 2005 to 2009, has 20 from 16 balls.

Better from Riki Wessels, striking Rory Kleinveldt down the ground for four.

Nine off the over in total, Nottinghamshire's best over by some distance.

    Nottinghamshire 15-3 (3.4 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

The captain is out, getting an attempted pull shot horribly wrong and presenting Josh Cobb with a simple catch.

Samit Patel is the next man in, needing to replicate Ben Duckett's heroics from the Northants innings if Notts are to have any chance of chasing down 162.

    Nottinghamshire 14-2 (3 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Sensible stuff from Nottinghamshire with the bat, suffocating from Northants with the ball.

Just four runs from that last over, and the Steelbacks are in total control of this innings at the moment.

There's still plenty of time for the Outlaws to turn things round though - Northants were 15-3 at one point in the first innings before they battled back to post a solid score.

"This is a great start by Northants, exactly what they needed.

"Their total wasn't the strongest, but those two early wickets means they're buzzing around the field at the moment."

    Nottinghamshire 10-2 (2 overs) v Northamptonshire 161-8

Riki Wessels gets a much-needed boundary, the first of Nottinghamshire's innings.

Bowler Rory Kleinveldt won't be too happy with that one, as the ball went straight under a fielder on its way to the rope.

Alex Hales is out, what a moment for Northamptonshire.

It's clever bowling from Rory Kleinveldt, who gets the ball to move back in and take the top of off stump.

Notts - who won their last nine T20 games - are in trouble early on.

"That's an outstanding catch from Steven Crook. He's got a little bit of a niggle, so he's done really well to get down to that ball.

"But, in comes another fantastic hitter in Riki Wessels. I'm pleased for Ben Sanderson getting an early wicket on this occasion."
