Thomas Broadley: IF @YorkshireCCC win the title, I wonder how many pints @timbresnan will have bought for him? I'm sure he'd put a few away.

I'm sure all the Yorkshire players will sink more than a few if they win the title Thomas!

  2. wicket

WICKET Robson (c Lees b Sidebottom) 0published at 16:10 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 & 1-1 v Yorkshire 390

Got him! It's the perfect line from Ryan Sidebottom and a pair for Middlesex opener Sam Robson.

The left-armer nips one across Robson who nicks it stomach height to Alex Lees in the slips.

Hearts in Taunton and Uxbridge are broken.

Ah, that's a big blow to Hampshire's chances of adding quick runs.

Captain James Vince is bowled by Durham spinner Ryan Pringle.

Keith Barker is also out at Edgbaston. Warwickshire are 241-7, leading Lancashire by 308.

  4. Middlesex innings under waypublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

WICKET Patel (lbw b Overton) 37published at 15:59 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Somerset 365 & 313-5 dec v Notts 138 & 138-5

Somerset are charging towards victory at Taunton now.

Giant paceman Craig Overton bends one back into Samit Patel's pads and up goes the finger.

Can Somerset win tonight? Play should finish bang on 5.30.

  6. Hampshire on the attackpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Hampshire 411 & 55-2 v Durham 361

Hampshire know they have to score quickly if they stand any chance of beating Durham, but they've lost a couple of quick wickets in the process.

Jimmy Adams and Tom Alsop are both out. James Vince has just arrived at the crease with Hampshire's run-rate up at five an over.

  7. Division Two updatepublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

Apologies for the lack of Division Two updates this afternoon, but Essex's dominance this season and the change to a single promotion place turned the final week into a bit of a damp squib.

However, Essex aren't faring too well at Canterbury today. The Division Two leaders are 190-5 in reply to Kent's 441. Dan Lawrence is 58 not out.

Derbyshire are 194-6 against Worcestershire at New Road with Harvey Hosein unbeaten on 81.

At Bristol, Ben Brown made a fine unbeaten 118 for Sussex in their 435. Gloucestershire are 23-0 second time around, still trailing by 183.

  8. Perfect day for Yorkshirepublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 390

The Yorkshire fans are on their feet all around the ground as Tim Bresnan and Ryan Sidebottom walk off the pitch.

The White Rose county's balcony stay standing as the pair walk up the pavilion steps.

There are 36 overs to be bowled in the final session if the light holds, by which point we may have a clear favourite in the title race.

  9. wicket

WICKET Sidebottom (b Rayner) 23published at 15:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 390

Ryan Sidebottom eventually goes as he tries to drive Ollie Rayner over the top but misses and the ball rattles the timbers.

But the Yorkshireman has done a superb job for his side and given them every chance of a third straight County Championship crown.

However, the real star is Tim Bresnan who finishes unbeaten on 142. It was one of the best innings you will see.

Yorkshire's lead is 120 as tea is called.

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 385-9

This third day keeps getting better and better for Yorkshire.

Tim Bresnan and Ryan Sidebottom have now shared 51 for the 10th wicket.

Middlesex's chances of a first County Championship title since 1993 appear to be over and their body language says so. There's a few hands on hips and glum faces out there.

  11. The relegation battlepublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Warwickshire 219 & 233-6 v Lancashire 152 - Tea

Warwickshire have taken their lead to exactly 300 at tea. Tim Ambrose (41 not out) and Keith Barker (23 not out) are the men keeping the Bears' survival hopes in tact.

Meanwhile at the Ageas Bowl Hampshire are on the attack. They're 35-0 off seven overs. A win against Durham appears to be the only result that will keep them in Division One.

  12. wicket

WICKET Lumb (lbw b van der Merwe) 31published at 15:34 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Somerset 365 & 313-5 dec v Notts 138 & 112-4

Somerset take their fourth wicket with the second ball after tea.

Roelof van der Merwe pushes one through and traps Michael Lumb lbw.

Somerset's chances of their first County Championship title are by no means over.

There are only four sessions and a bit left at Lord's and plenty of wickets still need to fall for either Yorkshire or Middlesex to win.

  13. Ryan 'World Boss' Sidebottompublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 379-9

Remarkable from the Huddersfield-born veteran. Sidebottom whips Toby Roland-Jones off his toes to the square leg ropes before smacking him down the ground off the back foot.

Chris Gayle would have been proud of those strokes. I forgot to say happy birthday to the big man yesterday - he turned 37.

  14. 6 runs

Huge six from Bresnanpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 371-9

What a shot from Tim Bresnan! The big man dances down the track to Ollie Rayner and smashes him over mid-wicket for a maximum.

Bresnan is up to 134, Yorkshire's lead is beyond 100. Middlesex skipper James Franklin looks like a broken man.

  15. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Somerset 365 & 313-5 dec v Notts 138 & 112-3

I'm not sure Chris Rogers will enjoy his tea very much.

It was another good session for the hosts at Taunton, claiming three Notts wickets, but the news Yorkshire reached 350 will have been like a dagger in the back.

There's still plenty of work for Somerset to do to win this game though. Nottinghamshire pair Michael Lumb (31 not out) and Samit Patel (28 not out) have more than 20,000 first-class runs between them.

  16. Yorkshire give themselves hopepublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 359-9

    Kalika Mehta
    BBC Sport at Lord's

Huge cheers go up from the Yorkshire fan contingent in the Edrich Stand as Ryan Sidebottom gets his side the crucial fourth batting bonus point.

The 38-year-old celebrated the boundary that took the White Rose county past 350 as if he had just won Yorkshire the title while noticeably the dressing applauded but did little else.

There is still a long way to go in this match as the sun returns to Lord's.

  18. YORKSHIRE REACH 350published at 15:12 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 353-9

Yorkshire's title hopes are still alive! Ryan Sidebottom clips Toby Roland-Jones off his legs to the boundary to take them past 350.

It means the only way Somerset can be crowned champions is if they beat Notts and these two draw.

What happens now at Lord's? I guess these two keep on batting to try and build an even bigger lead.

  19. Maiden overpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 22 September 2016

    Middlesex 270 v Yorkshire 349-9

Tim Bresnan just can't get it through the outfield! After playing and missing at a couple from Ollie Rayner, he swipes a couple straight at fielders in the leg side.

What can Ryan Sidebottom do? He's facing Toby Roland-Jones.

Here we go then, the sun is out and the players are ready.

Ollie Rayner has the ball in hand, Tim Bresnan, on 122, to face.

Yorkshire need one more run to keep their title hopes alive.
