    Middlesex 270 & 84-2 v Yorkshire 390

I'm not quite sure why Adam Lyth started from the other end.

He finds a good line and a bit of turn, but surely Yorkshire have to be looking to bowl Middlesex out here?

I saw plenty of Somerset fans saying they were going to do a rain dance in London.

    I'm afraid it hasn't worked - we're going to get a full day's cricket at Lord's folks...

The Somerset players will be at Taunton today, watching the game at Lord's

Will their captain Chris Rogers, who announced his retirement from all cricket yesterday, bow out with the title?

He'll have to wait a few more hours to find out.

After five gruelling months, the County Championship title has come down to this final day at a sun-drenched Lord's.

Both teams were out early on the Nursery Ground going through batting and fielding routines, while Jonny Bairstow was alongside his Yorkshire teammates, perhaps providing some words of wisdom and encouragement.

Whatever unfolds over the next eight hours, we're in for an excellent day's cricket.

  12. Who is going down?published at 10:16 British Summer Time 23 September 2016

    County Championship 2016 final day

One of Hampshire, Warwickshire or Lancashire will join Notts in Division Two this season.

If Hampshire beat Durham, the loser at Edgbaston between the Bears and Lancashire will be relegated.

If it's a draw at Hampshire, Hampshire will only stay up if Lancashire beat Warwickshire - sending Warwickshire down.

If both games are drawn, Hampshire go down.

A Hampshire defeat also sees them relegated.

While Lord's will be the focus game, I'll be keeping a close eye on happenings in the Midlands and Ageas Bowl.

Somerset's thumping 325-run victory over Nottinghamshire yesterday means it is pretty simple to work out the title permutations.

If it's a draw at Lord's, Somerset will be champions for the first time in their history.

A victory for either Middlesex or Yorkshire hands them the trophy.

Meanwhile, the relegation battle is a little more complicated...
