Jonathan Trott cuts down to third man for a single and Sam Hain pulls another rising delivery into the leg-side for one. Sam Curran is straining every sinew in search of a wicket and Trott is slightly fortunate when the ball skews off the outside edge but goes to ground and he jogs through for another run.

    Warwickshire 21-0 (5 overs) v Surrey 136

Good running brings Sam Hain two at the start of another Jade Dernbach over and he follows that with an elegant cover drive for four as the Surrey seamer over-pitches.

Dernbach tries one of the slower variations he normally employs at the far-end of an innings, but Hain is not deceived and keeps it out securely.

    Warwickshire 15-0 (4 overs) v Surrey 136

Sam Curran starts a new over by dragging one down short and Jonathan Trott swivels to pull it away for four - but the next five balls are dots. Trott has scored three hundreds in the competition this summer, but he certainly won't need another today.

It'll be a special game if Surrey win this. I've seen a lot on social media complaining about the pitch for a final, but only one side has batted.

    Warwickshire 11-0 (3 overs) v Surrey 136

Sam Hain tucks one away off his pads for a single, but Jade Dernbach is unlucky next delivery as a confident lbw shout against Jonathan Trott is turned down.

    Warwickshire 9-0 (2 overs) v Surrey 136

Sam Curran - only 18 years old, remember - is entrusted with the new ball and immediately finds a bit of inswing. A couple go past the outside edge before Sam Hain, the 2016 One-Day Cup's leading scorer, finally gets wood on the ball. Curran digs the final delivery in short and Hain dabs it round the corner for his first run.

    Warwickshire 8-0 (1 over) v Surrey 136

Jade Dernbach strays onto leg stump and an inside edge by Jonathan Trott runs away to the fine leg boundary to get the Warwickshire score moving. Dernbach doesn't learn the lesson and Trott flicks his final delivery away for another four. Surrey absolutely cannot afford to give away any easy runs.

OK, we're under way again. Jade Dernbach has the ball for Surrey and Jonathan Trott is on strike. Surrey need early wickets to stir things up in the Warwickshire dressing room.

Before we get started on the second innings of the One-Day Cup final at Lord's, don't forget that we have a potentially thrilling end to the County Championship in store next week.

Middlesex, Yorkshire and Somerset are still in the title hunt, while either Warwickshire and Hampshire will suffer the disappointment of relegation.

BBC Sport will be providing comprehensive radio and text coverage of the season's denouement, starting at about 10:45 BST on Tuesday morning, so please make sure to join us.

"There have been only three lower first-innings scores in a one-day final than Surrey's 136.

"Derbyshire's 108 all out against winners Lancashire in the 1998 Natwest Trophy final remains the record.

"But Lancashire were themselves bowled out for 118 by victorious Kent in the 1974 Gillette Cup final.

"Ten years earlier, Warwickshire were bowled out for 127 by Sussex as they too lost - by eight wickets."

    Warwickshire v Surrey 136

Can Surrey win the game from this position? I was once told that the answer to any question beginning with the word 'can' is yes.

They are going to have to produce a brilliant bowling performance to do so, but they have enough bases covered with Jade Dernbach, Stuart Meaker, the Curran brothers, Gareth Batty and Zafar Ansari - swing, seam, speed, spin both ways - to give Warwickshire a few anxious moments in their run-chase.

I'm doing my best here to talk up the possibility of an exciting finish. On the other hand, maybe the Bears will knock off the runs in 25 overs and we'll all have an early day.

Warwickshire's 322-5, to beat Sussex's 321-6 off the last ball, after an Asif Din century and 81 not out from skipper Dermot Reeve, is the highest score in a Lord's final.

That was in 1993, and Essex's 57 all out in their Glen Chapple-inspired 125-run defeat by Lancashire ithree years later remains the lowest score in a final.

Surrey 136 all out v Warwickshire

It's never a good thing when you are writing a text commentary to start by saying you are stuck for words.

However, there isn't very much insight I can offer about Surrey's batting - 136 all out says it all.

It was Gareth Batty's decision to bat first, let's not forget - but I do feel a little sorry for them.

If you want a high-scoring spectacle, then scheduling a showpiece cup final on 17 September is perhaps illogical.

Having said that, you can only admire Warwickshire's attack - both seamers and spinners - for exploiting the conditions so well.

"A sorry end to a Surrey innings - and to give the railway companies a bit of advance warning, it looks like an early train home for most Bears fans, whatever the outcome, so how about some extra coaches please? It was a bit cosy on the way down!

"Clearly Jade Dernbach should have been out an over earlier, when he looked plumb to Jeetan Patel, but the Surrey last man did at least strike one worthwhile blow in his brief cameo.

"The six he bludgeoned over wide mid on off Patel, from the very delivery that followed the Warwickshire spinner's turned-down lbw appeal, was Surrey's first scoring shot in 24 balls. I wonder how often that has happened in a Lord's final.

"Warwickshire will be very disappointed if they are not celebrating their ninth Lord's one-day final victory come four o'clock."

Well that's all from me after an innings that have put Warwickshire well in control of the match.

I'll leave you in the more than capable hands of former boring opener of Geddington CC Paul Grunill to take you through the Bears' innings.

You're not wrong, Phil - 'boring' is the word.

What an extraordinary turn of events.

Looking pretty decent at 99-2, Surrey lost their final eight wickets for just 37 runs.

Four batsmen failed to get off the mark and couldn't deal with Jeetan Patel and Oliver Hannon-Dalby, in particular, on a bowler-friendly pitch.

Chris Woakes bowling against Jade Dernbach. There was only going to be one winner.

Woakes beats the Surrey number 11 all ends up and Warwickshire are very much on course for an easy win here - or are they? Maybe there will yet be a surprise twist or two in the tale.
