    Surrey 6-0 (2 overs) v Warwickshire

Chris Woakes starts his opening over with a wide, before Jason Roy hits the first boundary of the day, sending a straight delivery to the boundary rope.

Roy then survives a weak, and I mean really weak, lbw appeal from a just couple of Warwickshire's players.

    Surrey 1-0 (1 over) v Warwickhsire

After three dot balls to open this final, Jason Roy cracked one away short of third man for a single and it turned out to be the only run of the first over.

Fellow England international Chris Woakes is opening the bowling at the other end for Warwickshire.

Some of these players won't have played at Lord's before, some won't have played in a final before. There'll be a few nerves out there."

Now some of may have noticed a similarity between my surname and this year's Mercury prize winner Skepta.

I can confirm I am in no way related to the grime artist. However, Warwickshire and Surrey will be hoping to use the title of one of his more famous songs and "Shutdown" their opponents today.

Warwickshire batsman Sam Hain has endured a disappointing summer in the County Championship, averaging just 20.72 in the red-ball game.

But he has come into his own in the One-Day Cup, having been given the responsibility of opening the batting, and is the only batsman to pass the 500 runs mark - with hundreds against Durham and Leicestershire and three half-centuries to his credit.

Does he have another 'biggie' in him today on the grandest stage of them all?

One-Day Cup final - play starts 10:30 BST

Surrey lost their first two group matches before their getting their act together in this season's One-Day Cup, but have benefitted from their attack hunting like a pack on the road to Lord's.

Four of their bowlers have taken more than 10 wickets in the competition, with pace bowler Stuart Meaker the most successful - his three victims in their semi-final win over Yorkshire included England batsmen Jonny Bairstow and Gary Ballance.

Will that pack mentality see them devour Warwickshire today - or will the batting strength of the Bears send them howling off into the distance?

"In what will be a long way short of a sell-out crowd at Lord's today, there will be a fair more few extra empty spaces when play gets underway.

"Signalling problems have badly delayed one service from Birmingham carrying many Bears fans into London Marylebone.

"And, on the other line into London Euston, following yesterday's land slip, services are still being cancelled."

Warwickshire all-rounder Chris Woakes was one of the stars of England's summer series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. But even though he is now an established international cricketer and used to playing at big grounds, he is still excited by the prospect of a domestic cup final.

He told BBC Sport: "There's so much history and tradition behind the one-day cup final, plus the fact that it's played at Lord's - it's huge.

"To play in a final at Lord's - in front of a full house - is almost as close to international cricket as you get. It's still a big day. It's still a huge part of the cricket season."

Surrey skipper Gareth Batty has won the toss and elected to bat first - a change of tactic from last year when they opted to chase against Gloucestershire.

They have Jason Roy and Zafar Ansari in their side in place of Dominic Sibley and Ollie Pope.

Warwickshire, meanwhile, make one change to the XI that beat Somerset by eight runs in the semi-finals, with England all-rounder Chris Woakes replacing young spinner Josh Poysden.

Surrey: Roy, Davies, Sangakkara, Burns, Foakes, Ansari, S Curran, T Curran, Batty (capt), Meaker, Dernbach.

Warwickshire: Hain, Trott, Bell (capt), Ambrose, Evans, Woakes, Clarke, Javid, Patel, Wright, Hannon-Dalby.

Warwickshire and Surrey have met once before in a Lord's one-day final, in 1982, when the Bears were put in, bowled out for 159 and Surrey won by nine wickets with more than 26 overs to spare.

Both teams have been regular visitors to the home of cricket since limited-overs finals were first played back in the 1960s - so how do their overall records match up?

  14. Up for the cup?published at 09:53 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Once upon a time a starring performance in an end-of-season cup final at Lord's could lead directly to a winter tour with England - if you're of a certain age, think Chris Cowdrey and Roland Butcher, for example.

No such incentives are needed in 2016, with the tour squads for Bangladesh announced on Friday, so for the players of Surrey and Warwickshire, today's day out at Lord's is all about glory - and we're not talking Britney Spears' new album here.

Supporters of the two counties have seen their side lift trophies at the home of cricket on a number of occasions - but in the words of that renowned cricket pundit Ms Spears 'feels like the crowd is sayin', gimme, gimme more'.

Welcome to our coverage of the Royal London One-Day Cup final. Play starts at 10:30 BST.
