Chris Wright's bowling has been mightily impressive so far.

Another over in which he yields just two runs, and he confused Rory Burns about which shot to play, leaving him flailing and missing a fairly routine delivery.

Warwickshire have two former Surrey players in their ranks in free-hitting batsman Laurie Evans and all-rounder Rikki Clarke.

"My first game for Surrey was as an under-nine," said Clarke. "I go back a long way, all the way up to 2007. My family and a lot of my friends still live in the Surrey area so it's always been a little bit weird playing against them."

Surrey have one former Warwickshire player in Kumar Sangakkara, who made 497 runs in seven Championship matches for the Bears in 2007.

They also have two other men with Midlands connections in former Worcestershire duo Batty and Steven Davies, who was man of the match with a century in the semi-final win over Yorkshire.

    Surrey 53-2 (12 overs) v Warwickshire

If Laurie Evans' catch was something special, the same can't be said of his most recent piece of fielding.

He seems to dive over a Rory Burns shot through the offside, gifting Surrey a single that they should never have had.

Still, quite a first over for Ateeq Javid.

    Surrey 49-2 (11.1 overs) v Warwickshire

Ian Bell brings Ateeq Javid into the attack and it works with his first delivery.

But my word Steven Davies will be disappointed with himself. The Surrey opener tries to play a defensive shot off a wide but misses it down the leg side and is well out of his crease, allowing Tim Ambrose the easiest of stumpings.

He's gifted his wicket away there. A disappointing way to go in his final innings for the county.

Yorkshire's 175-run Gillette Cup final win over in Surrey in 1965 remains the largest margin of victory by a side batting first. Man of the match Geoff Boycott's 146 not out remains the highest score in a limited-overs final at Lord's.

    Surrey 49-1 (11 overs) v Warwickshire

Warwickshire spinner Ateeq Javid is warming up in the field, but does Ian Bell want to risk him against Kumar Sangakkara?

Chris Wright's over sees just one run. His figures of 1-6 from three overs aren't too shabby, are they?

    Surrey 46-1 (10 overs) v Warwickshire

Warwickshire really have reeled Surrey in now, like a flapping fish. In the final four overs of the first powerplay there were just five runs.

TMS' Ebony Rainford-Brent says Warwickshire will be the happier team at the moment having tightened up their line, and I would very much agree with her.

Wicket maiden from Chris Wright, who almost had a second in the bag.

Kumar Sangakkara plays and misses at a swinging delivery from the Warwickshire seamer, almost edging behind.

That's an unbelievable catch, one of the best I've seen this season. He absolutely nailed that, but Evans is a natural athlete."

    Surrey 45-1 (8.3 overs) v Warwickshire

Tigger takes the catch, and what a catch that is!

Jason Roy really gets hold of the shot, but Surrey old boy Laurie Evans at mid-wicket takes a phenomenal one-handed catch, diving to his right.

Roy's 30-ball knock is over. Kumar Sangakkara comes in to the party.

    Surrey 45-0 (8 overs) v Warwickshire

Warwickshire have stopped the rot for now. One run from Chris Woakes' over.

Meanwhile, TMS' Dan Norcross has likened Bears batsman Laurie Evans to Tigger from Winnie the Pooh because of the way he bounces around in the field...

Here's a photo of the competition's official mascot. I'm afraid I don't know what his name is.

Stand him next to an MCC member wearing an 'egg and bacon' blazer and the colour clash would be appalling - or would it? Fashionistas, tweet us at #bbccricket and give us your opinion.

    Surrey 44-0 (7 overs) Warwickshire

After Rikki Clarke's figures of 0-24 from the first three overs, Bears skipper Ian Bell brings Chris Wright into the attack.

Three singles from the over and a bit of calm for Warwickshire.

Chris Woakes is bowling too wide to Steven Davies.

The Surrey opener again finds the offside boundary rope for four from the first ball of the over.

But Woakes loses just two more singles in that over. After the final one, he and Jason Roy seem to have a cheeky word to say to each other.

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Lord's

"Right up until the toss, the bookmakers had Surrey and Warwickshire evenly matched.

"But it is noticeable that, following Surrey's decision to bat, and especially since making this tidy start, they have now shortened and the Bears have drifted.

"Only two sides batting first here in the last eight finals have won, most recently when Gloucestershire beat Surrey last year.

"The other was in 2012, as Warwickshire found to their cost, losing off the last ball in a tie with Hampshire. Yet, had they called correctly this morning, Warwickshire would apparently have batted too."

    Surrey 35-0 (5 overs) v Warwickshire

These pair are already looking fairly well set.

Rikki Clarke has his head in his hands as Jason Roy hits his second delivery for four, so you'd think Clarke would learn his lesson.

Oh no. Roy finds the boundary a further two times through mid-wicket and that's 14 runs off the over. Expensive start.

    Surrey 21-0 (4 overs) v Warwickshire

Surrey have been untroubled so far.

Jason Roy hooks a lovely shot to fine leg Jonathan Trott for a single, before Steven Davies times one perfectly through the offside, evading the despairing dive of a fielder and away for four.

Today is the final time Davies will turn out for Surrey. He scored 104 against Yorkshire in the semi-final. Can he make a similar contribution today?

    Surrey 15-0 (3 overs) v Warwickshire

Steven Davies, who is leaving Surrey for Somerset at the end of this season, gets off the mark with two wonderfully struck fours - the first of which is an absolute peach of a shot and one Somerset fans can look forward to seeing next summer.

    Solid start for Surrey.
