    Surrey 102-5 (28 overs) v Warwickshire

New batsman Sam Curran, who was doing his A levels at the start of the summer, survives three Jeetan Patel deliveries but Warwickshire are absolutely on top now.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby will continue his spell, bowling to Rory Burns...

  2. wicket

WICKET Ansari (c Evans b Patel) 0published at 12:21 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 102-5 (27.3 overs) v Warwickshire

Four-ball duck for Foakes. Three-ball duck for Zafar Ansari.

I'm sorry if I just provided the curse of the live text commentator on Ansari there, as he plays across a Jeetan Patel delivery, and a leading edge gives an easy catch to Laurie Evans at short extra cover.

Not a great way to celebrate your inclusion in the England Test squad.

  3. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 101-4 (27 overs) v Warwickshire

Zafar Ansari has made just one fifty in this competition this season and Surrey will certainly need him to make another today.

But Oliver Hannon-Dalby causes him trouble with his first ball, and Ansari nearly edges behind.

Hannon-Dalby has 2-13 off his first five overs. Not bad, that.

  4. wicket

WICKET Foakes (lbw Hannon-Dalby) 0published at 12:17 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 101-4 (26.5 overs) v Warwickshire

Surrey's batsmen can't deal with Oliver Hannon-Dalby at the moment.

The big Warwickshire bowler gets a bit of movement in off the seam to Ben Foakes, and he is out for a four-ball duck after being adjudged leg before.

England Test squad member Zafar Ansari is next man in.

  5. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 100-3 (26 overs) v Warwickshire

Surrey's Rory Burns is living on ice as thin as many of my jokes.

Another big lbw appeal off Jeetan Patel's bowling but it was adjudged to be going down the legside.

That's a huge wicket. Kumar Sangakkara is one of the best in the business, one of the best the world has ever seen. Ben Foakes has a big job to do now."

  7. wicket

    WICKET Sangakkara (c Ambrose b Hannon-Dalby) 21published at 12:09 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 99-3 (25 overs) v Warwickshire

    OHD gets the big one.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby has been finding some movement in the pitch to left handers, and he may have got some here as Kumar Sangakkara's attempted cover drive is edged behind to Tim Ambrose.

Ben Foakes is the next to the crease.

  8. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 97-2 (24 overs) v Warwickshire

Rory Burns is not having the best of times at the crease and there's a big appeal by Jeetan Patel, but he edged it onto his own pads. Then, in the final delivery of the over, the leaves it late to cut away for four.

By the way, we are told that the official competition mascot (see 11:00 entry) is called Gilbert.

For anyone reading this aged under 20, look up the song Gilbert The Filbert on Youtube - it's one I'd like to see Bey or RiRi cover.

    Surrey 92-2 (23 overs) v Warwickshire

Rory Burns has played and missed a couple of times today, and he does it twice in this Oliver Hannon-Dalby over.

The first one was an attempted drive which turned off the seam and the second was an attempted cut that he just missed.

Three runs from that over. This game is just ticking along, like a reliable old clock.

There's something ominous about Sangakkara, the way he's accumulated his runs so far - if he's there for any amount of time and starts to unleash, it could be dangerous for Warwickshire."

  12. Postpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 86-2 (21 overs) v Warwickshire

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, a nightmare for live text commentators if you need to type his name quickly, concedes four runs from his second over.

Warwickshire are only allowing singles at the moment on a cold day in London.

  13. Postpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 82-2 (20 overs) v Warwickshire

Off-spinner Jeetan Patel, Warwickshire's leading wicket-taker in the One-Day Cup with 20 this season, comes into the attack.

Division One's leading wicket-taker won't be terribly happy with Laurie Evans, though, whose misfield allows Surrey an easy two.

BBC Sport's Ged Scott at Lord's: "Interesting that at the end of the 20th over, Surrey should be only 82-2, after their flying start. After 5.2 overs, they were 40-0, but, stunned by the loss of their openers, it has taken them three times as long to double their score."

  14. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 77-2 (19 overs) v Warwickshire

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is into the attack and starts off with a wide. What a way to begin in a final...

But just singles come from the rest of his over.

    It's been a while since a boundary...

  15. Postpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 74-2 (18 overs) v Warwickshire

Huge appeal as Rory Burns misses an attempted reverse sweep off Ateeq Javid and it hits the batsman's pads.

But umpire Tim Robinson believes it was outside the line - and DRS would have backed him up on umpire's call.

  16. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 70-2 (17 overs) v Warwickshire

Four singles from Chris Wright's most recent over. I'd still say that Warwickshire will be the happier of the two sides, but if Kumar Sangakkara can do what Kumar Sangakkara does, things could change pretty quickly.

    Surrey 66-2 (16 overs) v Warwickshire

Ateeq Javid back into the attack but he doesn't get a wicket this time - two runs from that over.

It's an interesting pitch, it's used and been glued, I'm not sure how it's going to last the 100 overs. We would have batted first because if it's glued you usually get the best of it first up. After that it usually gets slower."

Jim Troughton was one of the stars of Warwickshire's B&H Cup final victory over Essex in 2002. Watching that game was his actor father David, who described the experience of watching his son in a Lord's final in a feature for a very different-looking, old school BBC Sport website.

    Surrey 64-2 (15 overs) v Warwickshire

Oh Jeetan Patel. The Warwickshire off-spinner totally misjudges a routine stop at mid-wicket, allowing Rory Burns' shot to skips right through his hands, like Bambi, for four.

Chris Wright is still looking the most dangerous of Warwickshire's seamers as his fifth delivery of the over just misses to outside edge of Burns' bat.

  20. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Surrey 59-2 (14 overs) v Warwickshire

Ateeq Javid is rewarded for a wicket in his first over by being replaced in the attack by Chris Woakes...

    Four runs from that over.

Judging the conditions at Lord's, it's overcast and they have the lights on.
