England going well, I'm really liking the way Rashid is using his wrists at the moment. Into the 270s, England are getting there.

You can make a bit of spending money as a face-painter in these parts on matchday. There aren't many fans here but most of the ones that are have a Bangladesh flag plastered on their face. Rashid flicks Mehedi away for a couple round the corner as England creep towards 300.

Arjun Sohanpal: I'm frightened of making a cup of tea for fear of missing the rest of England's innings this morning.

Svenc: Downing a cup a soup on a chilly Pembroke morning hoping Rashid and Broad can get us to 300

  4. Eng 273-8published at 97 overs

Rashid has his leg-side whip out, mining some runs through mid-wicket from Taijul's full length. The tone has been set here. We're not going to see a lot of seam.

  5. Eng 269-8published at 96 overs

    Mehedi 35-6-75-5

Broad is staging a bit of a mini counter-attack here. He goes down to sweep away Mehedi for another four - this time a bit more aerially. He has a slip, leg slip and short-leg for company.

  7. Eng 265-8published at 95 overs

Rashid is getting first-hand experience of a track on which he will be expected to perform here. Taijul does him all ends up with a ball that pitches middle and leaves him outside off. The rest of the over is patted back. Pressure.

England's best option is to be positive. Not to go aggressive but keep those feet moving and punch the gaps, otherwise they are going to get bogged down.

Rob Sillett: It's good to see pitches that help the bowlers for a change. 300 first up would be a good score.

Broad is away with a boundary - a little steered sweep down to fine leg. That's positive.

Rashid might have a think about how he is going to play those from now on, he might possibly use his bat, Stuart Broad is probably telling him.

Hugo Walford: slightly regretting the 4:49 alarm

  13. Not outpublished at 93.2 overs

Rashid has got away with it. It was an awful effort to fend off a spinning ball but he is saved by the sheer amount of spin, which is carrying the ball down leg and past the stumps. Don't panic! Don't panic!

    Eng 260-8

The finger is up as Adil Rashid shoulders arms to Mehedi. He might as well review. His only chance is if it is spinning away down leg.

  15. Eng 258-8published at 93 overs

Well, that has put England on the back foot. Stuart Broad still looks like his head is in the changing room as he stabs at a couple of Taijul deliveries that skip past his outside edge. 300 has just sprinted off into the distance.

What was good was that the ball was straight and on the money because Woakes played for the turn. Maybe he could have got forward a little more, but even then he was thinking it was going to turn a lot more than it did.

Is it still turning? Yes. Yes, it is. Woakes looks to defend the first ball of the day from Taijul and pops the ball up to Mominul at short leg. You might want to go back to bed!

The players and umpires are out. Here we go.

Meanwhile, the TMS crew are in a sticky situation...

England's Jonny Bairstow, talking to Sky Sports: "It was pretty tough early on yesterday. Come when we have a chance to bowl it will be the same but with some rough as well.

"When I came in the ball was a bit softer but it was still tough. You have to grit your teeth and get used to the pitch.

"From 21-3 we are pretty happy with how we fought back. It was gutsy. If we can bat for an hour this morning it will be decent position to be in."
