Rashid comes wide to deliver to Tamim, looking to find a deflection that carries to either short leg or leg slip. Tamim is too clever for that, though.

Mushfiqur takes a risk with a sweep that almost finds Ben Duckett at backward point but instead falls just wide of him and skips way for two runs.

England are under a bit of pressure, they haven't resumed very well. They got wickets before an interval but came out both times and lost the initiative.

England return to Batty to try and wrestle back the initiative from Bangladesh. Apart from a half-hearted appeal from a ball that struck Tamim's pad but was clearly going down leg the over offers little to suggest a breakthrough is imminent.

  4. Ban 151-3published at 52 overs

Rashid is at his most dangerous when he lands it just short of a length and benefits from the extra zip and bounce off the pitch. He lands a couple there to keep Mushfiqur guessing. This partnership is 32 from 52 balls - a notable shift in gear from before tea.

At the moment Bangladesh are in the better position but it is the sort of pitch where you can lose two or three quick wickets.

Daniel Reed: Brilliant from Mushfiqur, mixing his batting order around to create right/left handed partnerships, flexibility we didn't show.

Graham Cartmell: Rashid will never be a test bowler. 1 good ball in 24 is nowhere near good enough.

Moeen goes round, then goes over, but drops too short throughout the over, making it easy for the batsmen. The bowler is momentarily up for what he thinks might be an edge but the ball is dropped by Bairstow rendering the debate about whether there was a nick or not moot.

Rashid was going so wide on the crease I thought he was going to be in danger of a no-ball. But Tamim has a really rounded gameplan, he has just got so much time.

Mushfiqur being that bit smaller just unsettles the length of the bowlers.

There are a few more fans here today. Some are even brave enough to sit in the glare of the sun. They are not quite as rowdy as those sat in the shade, who have got the horns going. Rashid coming round to Tamim but he flings in a full toss that the batsman flicks down the ground for two.

  11. Ban 144-3published at 49 overs

    Tamim 68, Mushfiqur 12

It is a good battle between bat and ball. Moeen retains an attacking field but he has to be defensive to push the ball in to Mushfiqur as he advances down the track. The spinner does well to check the home side's run-scoring progress.

  12. Ban 143-3published at 48 overs

That's an interesting shot from Tamim. He moves back towards his leg stump to make room for a punch wide of mid-off for four. After his conservative route to 50, the opener is just starting to look more positive.

Mushfiqur follows suit by clubbing a poor Rashid ball through mid-wicket to the rope. 24 runs from four overs since tea.

These two are running quite well. When Mahmudullah was in, there were a few confusions but these two have good communication and it is going to unsettle the bowlers with the left-hand/right-hand combination getting singles.

  14. Ban 134-3published at 47 overs

Mushfiqur is averaging just over 32 in Tests, having played 48 of them. He has a double ton to his name. He watches closely and plays Moeen on merit. Just the one single off the over.

Delicate balance now for Bangladesh. Tamim is looking to score but is having to be selective, playing with the spin to guide the ball into gaps. Rashid continues to get dramatic turn off this surface.

I feel this is the session that sets up the game. If Bangladesh only lose one more wicket they will be very happy but equally if England can find a way to sneak two out or maybe three they will be favourites.

Paul Rosenberg: Looking forward to Moeen Ali's new autobiography. Apparently, it's got a lot of favourable reviews....(I'm here all week!)

Elliott Bewley: If England were on the other side of these overturned reviews there would probably be a lot more discussion about the umpire!

Plenty of men round the bat as Moeen continues. Slip, short leg, leg slip. Mushfiqur isn't intimidated, though, using his feet to get to the pitch and steering the ball through square leg for four before hitting down the ground past mid-on for a second boundary. Taking the fight to England.

  19. Ban 119-3published at 44 overs

Rashid finishes off the over that was left hanging over tea. Mushfiqur is the new man and doesn't get a bat on the last three balls. A wicket maiden.

Cheers Jamie. He's off now to get me another coffee. If my typing goes down the pot during this session it is because of my shaking hands.

Here come the players. If things pan out as they have we'll be waiting until the last over of the day for another wicket. Time to buck the trend.
