What we won't know, and we won't for a while, is what constitutes a good score. Moeen is getting consistent turn. England have a spring in their step after a pretty nightmarish three hours. England should be batting tonight, weather permitting.

Michael Thomas: Do all these people whinging about England understand the concept of ebbs and flows in a five-day Test match?

Sam Taylor: This is an almost English collapse! Just wait 'til we get out there. We'll show 'em how it's done.

Josh Arbon: Like Buttler in the ODIs, Stokes is now consistently performing to his inordinate potential on the big stage.

Patrick Feeney: England spinners have been rightly criticised on this tour, but this spell from Moeen is as good as any he's bowled for England.

Andy White: Like clockwork Bangladesh collapse again around 200. Superb effort from Cook on that catch!

The combination that's done it has been Stokes, who has been finding movement where no-one else can, and Moeen, who has bowled his best half a dozen overs for England in a row. He was expensive early on but he's been the outstanding spinner. Once he's in rhythm, keep him going.

    Ban 205-6 (Shakib 5, Hom 2)

Moeen has four men round the bat as he bowls round the wicket to the right-handed Hom, who brings out the long handle with a ungainly swipe that brings him two. Bangladesh survive, but much to discuss over the sandwiches. That's tea.

Richie Macca: That's the beauty of Test cricket: a wonderful demonstration of the effects of time and pressure.

Simon Wilson: That Mushfiqur wicket was set up by Stokes pinning him. You couldn't do that with four spinners.

What can new batsman Shuvagata Hom serve up? He's very nearly skittled by one that keeps low as he plays back, but for the moment, he survives.

We saw how dangerous Sabbir could be. Stokes is just getting that little bit of movement and Sabbir followed it with an open face.

No danger from Sabbir on this occasion. It was wide and moved a fraction, Sabbir dangled the bat like a speculative fishing rod and a diving Bairstow took the catch low to his right. More inspiration from Stokes.

It's been a good second hour of the afternoon session for England. Moeen has bowled very well, he's given very little away and is getting the ball to spin, while Stokes is just outstanding.

Sabbir Rahman, who came so close to inspiring a Bangladesh win in the first Test and finished unbeaten on 64, is the new man and he watchfully plays out his first five deliveries from Moeen.

Oh Mushy. You have to wonder if that clout to the bonce has unsettled the little maestro. It was a dance down the track, a turn off the pads, an inside edge somehow between the pads and Cook at leg gully parried a sharp catch, before gleefully clutching the rebound.

Stokes is sweating up in the paddock, but it's not surprising. The fifth over of his spell and he has pinned Mushfiqur with a vicious bouncer that angled in as Stokes has the ability to do. Mushy appeared to wear that off the shoulder on to the side of his helmet and is flat on his back, but to the great cheers of the crowd he gets back up and two men in dubious camouflage uniforms brandishing a plastic stretcher are waved away. The little man continues, not even changing his helmet, edging the final ball hesitantly wide of second slip for a single.

Adam Wheeler: Still scratching my head why Batty isn't playing. Understand Ansari's selection. Could have played four spinners.

Mark: Batsmen should score bulk of runs, pick the best bowlers capable of taking 20 wickets to win the game - any runs they score is bonus.
