Whacking into middle stump. It's umpire's call on impact but Rahane will have to leave, a five-ball duck to his name. Clever from Rashid, using the googly and Rahane, who has looked scratchy, didn't see it coming.

I'd be amazed if that's going down the leg side or over the top. Unless he's got an inside edge on this...

Rashid! He's got Rahane! It's been giving out but Rahane gets the nod from his captain to go upstairs. I'm pretty sure this is out.

Ironic that Rashid, who has bowled accurately, picked up a wicket with a fairly awful delivery. Woakes will celebrate that catch by having a bowl. It's all going well until a nasty full toss goes flying off Kohli's boots and away for four leg byes. Bairstow gets the tip of a mitt to it but there's no stopping that.

Has there ever been a greater disparity between the quality of the delivery and the quality of the catch? Stunning from Woakes.

Personally, I'm quite happy to call cricket off and watch that catch on repeat. The best bit was the nonchalance with which Woakes caught it. As though charging in, diving forwards and snaffling a low catch is no big deal. Rashid sticks with some off stump theory to new man Ajinkya Rahane to register a wicket maiden.

It takes a brilliant catch to make the breakthrough. England need all the semi-chances to go into the hands and stick on this wicket. If England can get Kohli in the next hour or so...

Chris Woakes, take a bow. Take the special hat marked 'super catch' from Ben Stokes and wear it proudly. That is a superb effort. Rashid bowled a long hop, Pujara's eyes lit up and he smashed it into the deep. Woakes came darting forward, dived and grabbed it with both hands. Ridiculous.

The umpire on the field think it's out. I'll be amazed if this is anything but.

  10. Umpire reviewpublished at 51.2 overs

Chris Woakes has just taken an utterly brilliant catch to dismiss Pujara. Pujara's not going, so the umpires will check, but that looked stunningly good.

Everyone's back out. India are out more enthusiastically than England. Rashid will bowl the first over after tea.

Cheers, Steph. I thought I saw Gareth Batty preparing to get on a Manchester tram, but that was just my sleep deprived brain playing tricks. He's clearly at the Christmas markets.

If you are waking up on this Sunday morning hope for news of an England fightback, it might be best to go back to bed. Pujara and Kohli are giving them a lesson in how not to give it away on a flat deck.

England will be glad to have a cup of tea. The wheels have come off in the last 15 minutes in terms of keeping a lid on the runs. They're running out of overs for their pace bowlers, who put in quite a stint in that session.

  20. Tea - Ind 148-2published at 08:44 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

And that finally is tea. Another session that belongs to India. England have bowled well, but the home side have rolled with every punch thrown. By the end, they were landing their own and it is England who are rocking. India should be almost level by tonight.
