  1. Ind 174-4published at 26 overs

Better from Root to recover from that six but Kohli is looking imperious.

Thanks Alan. Well I don't know if my first ball back in the hotseat is an omen or not but Virat Kohli has smited Joe Root for six...

  3. Ind 165-4 (target 351)published at 25 overs

    Kohli 67, Jadhav 60

A straight drive into and down the ground brings Jadhav another four as these two make it a 100 partnership.

It's intriguingly poised at the halfway point of the Indian chase. To see who comes out on top here's Jack Skelton.

I wonder if Eoin Morgan needs to bring back one of his strike bowlers to get the breakthrough, because you really don't want Virat Kohli batting in the last 10, 15 overs of this match.

  5. Ind 158-4published at 24 overs

    Root 2-0-13-0, Moeen 2-0-13-0

This partnership is already into the 90s. India seem happy to accumulate steadily in the middle overs while Root and Moeen are bowling. Time for Morgan to present them with something different?

Kedar Jadhav has transformed India's chances in this match from next to nothing to a real threat.

  7. Ind 152-4published at 23 overs

India bring up their 150 but that was a good over from Moeen - just five from it. India require another 199 from 27 overs at 7.37 runs per over.

This is the phase of the game where it can slip away from you.

I think Eoin Morgan has turned to Joe Root to get through a few overs and give himself plenty of options later on.

  9. 50 runs

50 to Kedar Jadhav - Ind 148-4published at 22.1 overs

A superb 50 to Jadhav off 29 balls. It's not often that Virat Kohli plays second fiddle.

  10. Ind 147-4 (target 351)published at 22 overs

    Kohli 60, Jadhav 49

Eoin Morgan turns to Joe Root. I wonder if Root's baby son is still in front of the TV or if he's napping away contentedly. I'll bet the latter. He starts well but Kohli and Jadhav can still scamper seven more.

It's a brilliant little innings by Kedar Jadhav so far.

  12. Ind 140-4published at 21 overs

Moeen Ali gets his first bowl but he can't contain Jadhav. No-one can. Just a touch too much width - and I mean a touch - and it's dabbed to third man for his seventh boundary. He's now got 45 off 25.

Don't be under any illusion, this game is still totally loseable.

If India take care of their wickets, they will walk this..... England just too expensive!

  14. Ind 132-4published at 20 overs

    Kohli 55 off 53, Jadhav 39 off 21

Rashid has conceded 19 from his first two overs but Morgan keeps him on. It's a good over generally - except for the standard half-tracker which gets bashed to the fence by Jadhav.

  15. Ind 125-4 (target 351)published at 19 overs

We see Kohli as the dangerman but Jadhav has managed 33 from his first 18 balls. Again, Ball restricts India to six from his over.

A slightly muted celebration from Virat Kohli, given the situation, but the crowd love it.

It was a slog sweep over mid-on. He fetched it from way outside off stump but it was a good idea with the man up from the boundary. India have lost wickets but they're in touch with the run rate.

  18. 50 runs

    50 for Kohli - Ind 119-4published at 18 overs

    Run-rate required 7.25

Virat Kohli moves to his 39th ODI fifty with a pull for a couple off Adil Rashid. It's come off 44 balls. Kedar Jadhav ends an expensive over by smacking it into the stands over long-on. These two have put on 56 from 37 balls. Should we be starting to worry even with four down?

  19. Ind 108-4published at 17 overs

    Ball 4-0-25-1, Rashid 1-0-8-0

A change of ends for Jake Ball who replaces Stokes after the all-rounder conceded 32 from his first three overs, while claiming the wicket of Yuvraj Singh. A single from every ball stems what had been a fast-increasing run-rate.

That was a pie from Adil Rashid, asking to be eaten up, and Jadhav took the full mouthful.
