First ODI since 2013 and what does Yuvraj Singh do? Hits the second ball he faces for six.

    Ind 42-2 (target 351)published at 8 overs

Yuvraj fancies some of this - pulling David Willey for the second six of the innings. He's down the track again but Willey sees him coming and sends it wide of off - but not too wide - to prevent a free swing of the bat. Willey drops short off the final ball of the over and it gets the treatment from Yuvraj. Willey has conceded 30 from his four overs, but he does have the two wickets to fall.

The big question for India is can Virat Kohli compartmentalise his roles.

As a batsman, he is the best chaser in the world, an expert at what risks to take and when.

But as captain he now possibly has to think about getting his partner in and who should be batting next.

  4. Ind 32-2published at 7 overs

    Kohli 18, Yuvraj 0

Looking at the replay of Rahul's dismissal, Willey's just done him through the gate - he wasn't really aiming too square. However, Virat Kohli is undaunted by the loss of two early wickets, advancing to Woakes and smacking it over mid-on. Next ball it's flicked to leg from well outside off stump for another boundary. "Kohli, Kohli, Kohli" rings out around the ground.

Hands on heads all around the ground here. That was a special delivery by David Willey, around the wicket, creating that angle and he's just beaten KL Rahul through the gate. It's the angle he created that caused the problem.

    Rahul b Willey 8 (Ind 24-2)

Virat Kohli got those horns blowing again by belting David Willey into the stands but the England bowler hits back by claiming his second wicket, cleaning up KL Rahul who played all around it. It's all gone quiet again.

Dominic: All set up for Kohli 120* and Dhoni 60* India home with 3 overs to spare!

Matt: Nice early wicket for England.

Daniel: No pressure though, Virat Kohli.

  9. Ind 14-1 (target 351)published at 5 overs

India captain Virat Kohli is the new man. I'm told by Stephan Shemilt that he averages 63 in ODIs when chasing. That average jumps to 90 when India win. Kohli is off the mark with a drive down the ground off Woakes that a diving Alex Hales restricts to a single. It's all very quiet in Pune at the moment - even the vuvuzelas are largely silenced. Excellent start by England.

The ball just carried, it was remarkable how far it travelled. It just shows the quality of these edges I suppose.

It's going to script for England - they would've wanted to get Virat Kohli in early with the field in. Another early inroad would be perfect for them.

    Dhawan 1 c Moeen b Willey 1 (Ind 13-1)

Early strike for David Willey and it's Shikhar Dhawan who's gone after looking uncomfortable in his brief innings. Earlier in the over he came down the track and didn't get to the pitch of it but sliced it down to third man to get off the mark. Well, he perished in a similar manner with Moeen Ali claiming the catch after a little juggle.

  13. Ind 10-0published at 3 overs

    Rahul 6, Dhawan 0

Uppish drive from Rahul bounces in front of England captain Eoin Morgan who lashes the ball at the stumps, presumably to demonstrate that his side are right up for this. The Indian opener hadn't moved out of his crease. Just one off a tidy Woakes over and Dhawan is still to get off the mark.

KL Rahul is a quality player - he averages 196 in ODI cricket, although that was because of some not outs in his first three matches against Zimbabwe.

  15. Ind 9-0published at 2 overs

Left-armer David Willey is the other man given the new ball and his first delivery offers to swing back in to Rahul. The next one swings too far down leg - another wide. Rahul then forces one off the back foot through mid-wicket for the first runs off the bat - four of 'em. Another one down leg forces the ump to stretch his arms out again. Sloppy but it's a tidier end to the over.

  16. Ind 2-0 (target 351)published at 1 over

    Rahul 0, Dhawan 0

KL Rahul is facing Woakes to begin with. He allows the first two balls to go through to Buttler before India eventually get the scoreboard moving with a leg-bye. Shikhar Dhawan then faces his first ball which is a bouncer that couldn't be reached with two bats taped together. A needless wide.

England are a completely different outfit to the other teams who have been out here recently. I would back them to win tonight.

The last 10 overs were a bit like this for India and Jasprit Bumrah as England smashed them around the park. Chasing 350 will take some doing but would you really be surprised India knocked it off with about six overs to spare?
