Ben: Watching Ben Stokes whack it everywhere was making work bearable.

Diccon: I would pay all the money i don't have to watch a batting partnership between Stokes and Buttler when both are in full flow.

Sixer! Trick shot by David Willey. One-handed over mid-wicket. Not only England's highest score in India, but highest versus India anywhere.

Still Jasprit Bumrah. Low full toss. Single to Woakes. This is England's highest score in India.

  4. Eng 338-7published at 49 overs

Good over by Umesh, an Indian bowler finally nails his yorkers. One to come. Damage already done, or England at no more than par?

The yorker working for India - they haven't bowled it as well as they should have but it's great Umesh Yadav is looking for it. The length ball has been hit to the boundary. Moeen Ali hit some delicious boundaries.

Bowled him! Brilliant yorker from Umesh Yadav, underneath the bat of the reverse-sweeping Moeen Ali, stumps everywhere. Good knock by Moeen, mind. David Willey next. They just keep coming...

This is the advantage of having depth in your batting - even now, England have two batsmen in who can hit the big shots. England are aiming at 350+ for sure.

The floodlights are just taking effect, the horns are still horning, and Chris Woakes is the latest England batsman to find the fence. Inside out over cover for four off Umesh.

Jonny: Sorry guys. Literally within a minute of me turning on TMS, Stokes is out. Stokes seems to get out when I switch on.

Steve: Sat down, turned on TV, Stokes out first ball. Sorry.

    Last 5 overs: 75-1

Ben Stokes might be gone, but Moeen Ali is still swinging like a rusty gate. Another short ball from Bumrah is pulled over the mid-wicket fence to silence in Pune. He then somehow backheels a yorker past a diving Dhoni for four leg byes. 13 off the over. Even without Stokes, England are a runaway train.

The Ben Stokes Show is over, the entertainment done, at least until he gets the ball in his hand. Jasprit Bumrah makes absolutely sure he doesn't ball another beamer, digging in a short ball that Stokes miscues to Umesh Yadav at deep mid-wicket. The end of a quite brilliant innings, one that has got England right into this match.

  13. Eng 317-5published at 47 overs

    Stokes 62 (39), Moeen 19 (11)

Virat Kohli is about to explode here. Moeen Ali in on the fun, backing off to carve through the off side for four, then having the skill to guide a full ball to third man for yet another boundary. 20 (twenty) off the over. England have added 72 in five overs.

Good point. Stokes is putting a few rupees on his IPL price here. Umesh has recovered well, finding the yorker, but England have now taken 52 runs from 20 balls.

Incredible by Stokes, but more problems for India. Yet another beamer, this time from Umesh Yadav. Somehow Stokes guides it over third man for a maximum. A no-ball goes for six and a free-hit is coming up...

Catch it in the crowd! A fourth six for Stokes brings up a 33-ball fifty, the fastest by an England player against India. It's been brutal.
