  1. Big Bash naughtinesspublished at 09:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2017

An on-air conversation between Brad Hodge and a television commentator during a Big Bash game is being investigated by Cricket Australia (CA).

Adelaide Strikers captain Hodge was told by Mark Howard that Ben Laughlin had got Shane Watson, who was batting for Sydney Thunder, out twice before.

Hodge duly brought Laughlin on to bowl and, even though he did not get Watson out, the incident "disappointed" CA.

Broadcaster Network Ten later apologised for Howard's comments.

Poor Moeen Ali is being fed to the lions here. MS Dhoni averages 91 against off-spin in one-day cricket. The former skipper is keeping his powder dry for now. But for how long?

Yuvraj has settled down well after being a bit nervous to start with. Some of the drives he has played have been powerful. This is a good partnership building for India.

  4. Ind 88-3published at 19 overs

What England need now is an out and out pace bowler - somebody like Mark Wood - who could blow a couple more holes in this Indian batting line-up. Ben Stokes is not of that ilk and he instead keeps things tight with some well-directed cutters.

  5. Ind 86-3published at 18 overs

Jos Buttler is a quietly spoken man behind the stumps, and you hear very little interaction between him and the bowler via the stump microphone.

The opposite of Ian Healy and his 'Bowled Warney!'.

Moeen is introduced to the attack and both batsmen are happy to milk the ones and twos. If they stay together, a score of 350 is still achievable.

  6. Ind 80-3published at 17 overs

Yuvraj is playing a wonderful innings here - hitting Ben Stokes for a straight four with a forceful punch off the back foot. Better timing than a Swiss watch.

    Partnership 49 from 68 balls

Jake Ball changes his line of attack and goes round the wicket to the left-handed Yuvraj who just opens the face and banks four down at third man. You can't buy that nous. Drinks.

The stadium in Cuttack is a mish-mash of traditional stands and high-rise concrete structures. Over at the local building site, tools have been downed and the workers sit on rooftops taking in the action. The momentum is starting to shift towards the batsmen.

  11. Ind 64-3published at 14 overs

MS Dhoni's numbers are staggering. He now has 4,000 ODI runs in his home country following a cut for four off Jake Ball. Eoin Morgan, in comparison, has 2,427 in England.

Ball, by the way, is bowling some rather average stuff.

Vijay: Dhoni biopic is pretty good and it throws light on how much he has struggled to play for India and captain them. It's insipirational to the budding cricketers and what it takes to overcome hurdles to reach the peak.

  13. Ind 58-3published at 13 overs

Yuvraj pats back a maiden to Liam Plunkett. That's the fourth maiden in the game - there were none in the first ODI.

I'm reliably informed that the combined age of Yuvraj and MS is 70. They can still mix it with the young 'uns though - Dhoni getting on his toes to swat Jake Ball for two.The former skipper is looking fleet of foot today.

300 will be the minimum that India are hoping for. England have to keep rotating their bowlers, keep it tight and try to take wickets.

    Yuvraj 27 off 24 balls

Yuvraj appears to be without a bat sponsor. There's nothing wrong with the middle on his shop-bought one, mind*. He drives Liam Plunkett for two fours, one through the covers and one down the ground.

    * I'm aware Yuvraj probably didn't nip down to the sports equipment shop to buy his bat

Jake Ball did a press conference the other day and told everyone that he was going to bowl short.

  19. Ind 43-3published at 10 overs

England don't look to have the same threat when Jake Ball has the, erm, ball in his hand. Yuvraj pulls the big man for another four. Time for Liam Plunkett to be given a chuck.
