I was speaking to Brad Haddin about nicknames, and he told me that Pakistan's Sharjeel Khan is nicknamed 'Biscuit' because that's his favourite thing to eat after winning a game of cricket. His team-mates use it as an incentive.

Aidan: Why do India fans leave when a certain player is out? You are there to support a team not a player.

  3. Ind 205-5published at 37 overs

117 runs required from 78 balls

No wickets for Woakes but his economy rate is superb. His latest goes for just three runs. The conditions are there to be used and the opener is doing just that.

Navneet Gautam: The difference between England in this game as opposed to the other two is that they have taken key wickets at key moments.

Parveen Goyal: Jadeja has never won any game for india with bat. Can he do today? What do you think? I don't think so.

That's an awful shot from Pandya... chill out man!

  6. Ind 202-5published at 36 overs

120 runs required from 84 balls

Ben Stokes returns. Pandya pulls out a heave so ugly it could have just drunk from the wrong holy grail. After a little word from his partner, Pandya calms himself and plays a much more effective stroke, standing his ground and steering round the corner for four.

  7. Ind 193-5published at 35 overs

129 runs required off 90 balls

Well bowled Chris Woakes. Pandya is beaten outside off and then has to fend off a darting short ball. Four singles added. Just the four.

There's been a rush of people wanting to leave the ground since MS Dhoni was dismissed.

  9. Ind 189-5published at 34 overs

    133 runs required

Jadhav is useful. He doesn't have the power of Dhoni but he is quick to identify line and length and is able to manoeuvre himself to steer the ball away. He does this to pull Ball away for four before driving for one.

Moeen has bowled well. He has bowled a fuller length, keeping it under the bat so the batsmen couldn't play the big shot.

  11. Ind 182-5published at 33 overs

    140 runs required

Moeen keeps it tight again with a full length. Five singles added.

There are some gaps in the stands now. Some of the home fans have given up. No Kohli, no Dhoni, no point?

At this moment in time, I'd say this is England's game. Especially on this surface. The team who won the toss (India) should have batted first.

England will be sensing that they've made the inroads into the India middle order that they couldn't in Pune or Cuttack.

  14. Ind 177-5published at 32 overs

    Required run-rate: 8.60

This is a game England have to win now.

Their post-wicket enthusiasm is dampened as new man Hardik Pandya edges past the diving Ben Stokes at slip and gets four off his first ball.

That bounced more than MS Dhoni expected and Jos Buttler took a good catch behind the wicket.

    Dhoni c Buttler b Ball 25 (Ind 173-5)

Massive moment. It is a carbon copy of the Kohli dismissal as Ball gets one to rise sharply off a length outside off, Dhoni swings and edges to Buttler.

    Eden Gardens is silent.

This is good going. Jadhav took his time to settle down and is now opening his shoulders. He'll be giving MS Dhoni plenty of confidence.

  18. Ind 171-4published at 31 overs

    151 runs required

Dhoni is full of intent. He tries to hit Moeen's first ball into next month but fails to connect. England's spinner tightens up and keeps the Indian pair in check - five singles off the over.

  19. Ind 166-4published at 30 overs

India are on the counter-attack. Dhoni steps across his stumps and flicks Ball away for four before Jadhav plays a late stabbed cut to send the ball wide of third man and into the rope. Ball, hands on hips, racks his brain for a solution.

The weakness of Indian cricket is that there are not many good opening bowlers around and that in turn means there is not an abundance of opening batsmen being produced.
