There are two types of cricket fan: those that ignore what is happening on the pitch and go mad whenever a camera is pointed in their direction, and cricket fans.

Home hearts in mouths for a second as Jadhav top-edges a sweep off Moeen, but then cheers as it beats Eoin Morgan and skips away to the rope. The Indian batsman follows it with a more purposeful shot, a little dabble which also goes for four.

The bouncer to Dhoni is not as effective as it is to other batsman because he stays so deep in his crease.

  3. Ind 143-4published at 28 overs

Huge. Dhoni claims his first six with a big pull off Plunkett over fine leg. That's got the crowd going. It ruffles the England bowler, who delivers another wide - the 16th extra of the innings. Sloppy.

  4. Ind 134-4published at 27 overs

Two relatively new batsmen at the crease, a pitch giving something to the bowlers, a decent score on the board to protect, England will be happy right now. All eyes on MS. Dhoni claims a single off Moeen - the only one of the over.

  5. Ind 133-4published at 26 overs

Kedar Jadhav is the new man. Dare I say that the game has just swung in England's favour now? The Yuvraj-Dhoni pairing, which did so much damage in the second ODI, was a crucial one to break for the tourists.

Well done to Liam Plunkett, he deserved that. Sam Billings took that easily, low down, as if someone was under-arming him the ball. It was a pick-up shot from Yuvraj and there was only one place it could end up. It was a good field setting.

    Yuvraj c Billings b Plunkett 45 (Ind 133-4)

Cheers Higgy! And cheers to Liam Plunkett! He bowls a straight, good-length ball and draws a misjudged flick from Yuvraj that whistles straight down Sam Billings' throat at deep mid-wicket.

    I'm claiming that one.

  8. Ind 132-3published at 25 overs

    Target 322

Moeen is all over the shop with his deliveries. Is it possible the dew is starting to make it difficult to grip the ball?

I'll leave you with that thought while I hand over to Phil Dawkes. He's the man to see you over the line. Enjoy.

Winning is a habit. You want to make sure you clinch these tight games and know how to clinch them. These two have played a lot of ODI games and a decade of IPL cricket. They are proven finishers in many ways.

  10. Ind 128-3published at 24 overs

    Target 322

Yuvraj is averaging 104 in the series so far and he looks well set to improve that number significantly. The hosts are taking control once more.

The second game was a test for where England are at this moment. Could they chase down 380? It is the same situation here. Can they limit India?

  12. Ind 126-3published at 23 overs

    Target 322

Moeen chews his gum a little harder when he gets one to grip and it's helped on its way for four down to fine leg by MS Dhoni. It gets worse... Yuvraj tucks into a horrible short ball and shovels it for six, again into the leg side.

    Stokes 4-0-21-1

Yuvraj versus Ben Stokes is a real macho contest. Two strong blokes with full-blooded commitment. Stokes tests Yuvi on the short ball, the batsman cracks it through mid-wicket for four. The blows will keep on coming from both men until the knockout comes.

Mike Ball: turned on the radio and England immediately get the wicket of Kohli. You can thank me later.

  16. Ind 107-3published at 21 overs

    Yurvraj 29, Dhoni 0

Wallop! Moeen pitches up to Yuvraj who batters four through the off side. The burly left-hander, who is looking a little trimmer these days, doesn't do anything by halves. I imagine he's broken a few objects in his life with his heavy-handedness. He's certainly broken plenty of bowlers' spirits.

  17. Ind 102-3published at 20 overs

    Target 322

Time to bring the odd close catcher in, bend the back for the extra pace and ramp up the aggression. England's chance to seize a consolation win is now. MS Dhoni is the new batsman.

This is an opening here for England. They will be delighted they have removed Kohli, one of the best chasers in the world. It was an innocuous delivery that probably deserved to be chased, but that extra bounce caused problems and it flew through to Buttler.

    Kohli c Buttler b Stokes 55 (Ind 102-3)

Ben Stokes might well prove to be the difference between these two sides today. His big hitting pushed England beyond 320 and now he's removed Virat Kohli with a widish ball which the right-hander chases and thick-edges behind to a grateful Jos Buttler.
