    Carter 27, Brathwaite 7

Ooh! That is so close. Jonathan Carter goes into his crease, expecting the short ball, but Steven Finn goes full. Carter can't adjust in time and spoons the ball up into the air and it goes just inches past Finn's outstretched hand! Finn ends up on his knees, glaring up at the batsman.

stevedwhittle : Can you make Tino Best a permanent TMS fixture? He's fantastic.

    Target 329

A leg side delivery is helped on its merry way by Jonathan Carter, as Moeen's radar has a bit of a wobble. Carlos Brathwaite, who hasn't looked particularly comfortable against spin in the past, opts to pat away the final few deliveries. Might it be time to bring on Adil Rashid?

    Carter 21, Brathwaite 5

Steven Finn, floppy hipster fringe flapping about, continues charging in from the aptly-named Joel Garner end. He's got a single slip in place, who ooh's in appreciation as he beats Jonathan Carter's lofted drive. Carter defends very low down, a touch crab-like, as Finn searches for that bit of extra bounce.

  6. WI 66-6published at 22 overs

Carlos Brathwaite has some nice looking shots in his locker but all he's finding at the moment is the fielders. Moeen's getting the odd bit of turn but Brathwaite plays sensible, driving through the covers for a quick couple of runs.

Former England batsman Roland Butcher on TMS is asked about a potential revival in West Indies cricket: "I think it will take a long time. The level of first-class cricket is not the best and pitches have been poor for the past 20 years. The strength has been fast bowling and the pitches haven't suited them."

    Finn 6-1-20-1

Steven Finn is back to try and finish things off quickly, but Jonathan Carter isn't having any of it. He's judging everything on length, not playing at anything he doesn't need to. That tactic is working really well until the final delivery, which Carter has a huge waft at and only narrowly avoids getting an inside edge through to the keeper.

Jack Beecroft : The West Indies have got to find a way of playing their global stars, taints the contest knowing they have more to offer

  10. WI 61-6published at 20 overs

    Target 329

Moeen, recovering from that disappointment, gets one to turn in to Jonathan Carter. That's a lovely cut though, Carter leaning back and just turning his wrists and finding the boundary. The rest of the over is tight from Moeen, and Carter can only work a single away.

And he has indeed hit it. The decision will be overturned.

Carter thinks he's hit it - we've got no hotspot or snicko for this series. The third umpire is having a long, long look at this.

Jonathan Carter has been given out lbw to Moeen Ali, but he's reviewed it straight way. Upstairs we go...

  15. WI 56-6published at 19 overs

A wide from Liam Plunkett down the leg side, but Carlos Brathwaite chased it all the way. This is really good stuff from Plunkett, forcing the batsman to play at each delivery, with Brathwaite defending each one.

I'd be tempted to make one change. If you're looking wrap it up, Adil Rashid would be a good man. He's picked up more wickets than anyone since the World Cup.

  17. WI 55-6published at 18 overs

Moeen whirls through another over, with Carlos Brathwaite getting off the mark with a nice straight drive past the bowler. The England fans in the crowd are thoroughly enjoying themselves at the minute.

  19. WI 45-6published at 17 overs

Liam Plunkett's figures: 4-1-4-3. Excellent stuff but the West Indies shot selection has been, well. Non-existent, almost. It's seemed like catching practice at times.

I feel like England have got a party to get to. I've always thought Liam Plunkett should have got a longer run in the side because he has so much pace and bounce.
