  1. SA 216-6published at 36 overs

A big ol' round of applause for Moeen as he pops his cap back on his head. South Africa have helped England out massively here. They were cruising with Amla and Du Plessis at the crease and it's all gone a bit wonky since then.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 35.3 overs

    Morris c Buttler b Moeen 5 (SA 216-6)

Ooh, when reverse sweeps go wrong, they really go wrong. A bit of a tangle there from Morris. He'd just knocked Moeen for four then got down on one knee for the reverse sweep and ended up popping a top edge up to Buttler behind the stumps.

Chris Baldwin: How far has the game come in the last few years? England put on 339 and SA need 130 odd from 16 overs and I'm still nervous!

  4. SA 212-5published at 35 overs

    Woakes 6-0-29-2

Two wickets for Chris Woakes so far. He's got Chris Morris in his sights now as De Villiers leans on his bat at the non-strikers. That's a tidy over, and Woakes gets an appreciative round of applause from the Headingley crowd.

South Africa's batting is doing exactly what England would have hoped - gifting wickets at crucial times. Miller has done exactly the same as Duminy and planted it straight down mid-wicket's throat.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34.1 overs

    Miller c Stokes b Woakes 11 (SA 208-5)

Dearie me. Gift wrapped from David Miller. A returning Chris Woakes has dug in a fairly short ball, Miller has swung his arms at it and that's a simple catch for Ben Stokes at deep mid-wicket. That was almost a replica of JP Duminy's dismissal.

  8. SA 208-4published at 34 overs

    De Villiers 34, Miller 11

Moeen has a bit more luck bowling to Miller, spinning one past his outside edge before drawing him forward. Miller, rather sensibly, blocks out the rest of the over.

  9. 6 runs

    SA 206-4published at 33 overs

Ooft. A bit of width from Rashid, and De Villiers throws the kitchen sink at it. And now David Miller is into the action! Six! That's lovely stuff, Miller dancing down and striking it into the crowd. And the spectator trying to catch it has absolutely stacked it! He's leapt to his left to catch it and landed on the tarpaulin, which has instantly given way, and he's ended up lying on the floor looking a bit bemused.

Morgan's captaincy doesn't get enough of a mention. He brought Wood back to target Amla, then Plunkett to get a wicket. He's relaxed, but has a steely focus.

  11. SA 192-4published at 32 overs

    De Villiers 27, Miller 2

Moeen's back. An excellent stop from Rashid down on the boundary cuts off a De Villiers shot, Rashid flicking the ball back into play. He went down a little awkwardly, though - his knee has dug up a big bit of grass there. New man David Miller nabs a quick single from his first ball to get him going. That's a bit of short nothingness from Moeen, though, and De Villiers knocks it away easily for four.

That is an absolute gift. Duminy could have hit that anywhere, but he's toe ended it straight to Chris Woakes. It should have gone above the stand. England will not complain.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 31 overs

    Duminy c Woakes b Rashid 15 (SA 182-4)

There's one man down on the boundary, and JP Duminy has picked him out. In his mind, that was going for six. In reality, Duminy's hoiked a short, sort of nothing delivery straight into Chris Woakes' hands. That's not ideal, and Duminy looks pretty irked as he walks off the field.

Kyle Utterson: 340 is a long way off now. Two quick wickets have England in control again. This will go to the wire though.

  15. SA 176-3published at 30 overs

Plunkett is stomping around as De Villiers and Duminy work him this way and that to knock off a few more runs. Plunkett goes round the wicket to Duminy but he works him away to safety.

Duminy is a nice player on the eye, he makes batting look very easy.

  17. SA 171-3published at 29 overs

    De Villiers 14, Duminy 9

That's horrible from Rashid; a nasty long hop that's heading down leg and De Villiers swings it, with some contempt, away for four. Duminy gets into the act next, taking a step down the pitch and lofting Rashid over extra cover.

  18. Postpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

Two wickets in eight balls for England after a long spell of not very much happening.

    First was Hashim Amla...

    And then Faf Du Plessis.

After taking those wickets, England are in credit for the first time in a while.

  20. SA 161-3published at 28 overs

    Target 340

Ooer. JP Duminy plays an flashy pull shot at a shortish Plunkett delivery and ends up swatting at fresh air. Plunkett stares him down while Ben Stokes, who has returned to the pitch after leaving with a sore knee, applauds from gully.
