Well, what a day we have had, 19 wickets in a day. There were a few anxious moments for England supporters when seven fell for 63 runs this morning but the target of 311 proved rather too much for the South Africans, over 200 runs too many in fact, as they were all out for just 119 inside 37 overs.

"It is only one game, we can change it from here.

South Africa will get better and better. To have Faf du Plessis back will be a huge bonus. They missed his leadership and guidance but clearly they have got to be down.

I think England will keep the same team. I don't see a reason to change when you have six bowling options.
This should boost them again. They are under a new captain and are a side that has had potential to performance consistently and that will be what Joe Root is saying: 'add consistency to our play'.
Moeen Ali in his post match interview: "It was the best all round performance of my career.
"It was a great wicket and I was trying to attack the batters as much as possible and it worked out well.
"I learned a lot in India it helped my mindset a lot and it worked out well.
“It is almost like a fresh start for me with a new captain.”

I think when you have got a player like Moeen Ali who is such a flair player, runs much help him.
He made batting look so simple.
South Africa will have to look at their plans to bowling to Moeen Ali.
England coach Trevor Bayliss: "It was a complete performance, everyone played their part. We thought if we got to 300 we were going to be difficult to beat.
"Moeen sees himself as a batter who bowls and if that gives him more confidence then so be it. I thought Dawson did a fantastic job and kept it tight in the second innings, which allowed Mo to attack."

My advice to any young captain is that you have to separate captaincy into different stages.
In the middle in the field you are the captain of team making the bowling changes and setting the field but as soon as you are back in the dressing room you are the batsman.
That is what Root did well on day one, he played like Joe Root the batsman.

England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow took four catches in the match and made 51 with the bat in the second innings earlier today: "What a day, what a game, Rooty taking over I don't think he could have asked for a better way to start. He has been pretty chilled. In his mind he was happy with the side and the performance shows that.
"Moeen's is an unbelievable achievement and he has won us the game.

Man of the Match Moeen Ali on TMS: "Everything went my way. I didn't feel like I bowled as well as I did in the first innings. Dawson bowled very well and the wicket of Hashim Amla was a big turning point.
"Saqlain has been helping me with my mindset and Rooty has given me the license to come on and take wickets.
"He (Root) is exact same and will stay same. I think you will see that on the pitch with the fields. It is a great start for him and I am really pleased for him."

Today was very similar to that last session on day one. I looked at South Africa and they are not like South Africa teams I have played against or seen in recent years. They looked spineless today.
