Anon (please remember your name!)
Jennings 18, Root 14
It's spin first up after lunch with Maharaj bowling to Root. The England skipper takes a step back and pushes one to the right of backward point for a single.
An lbw shout against Jennings, who is playing a shot and is hit well outside the line. An awful shout, but probably not as bad as the one South Africa reviewed earlier today.
Jennings clips one past short leg for a single. In fact, he's nutmegged him.
The players are heading back out. Sit back and relax as you join me for this session. Let's hope the rain stays away.
Graeme Smith
Ex-South Africa captain on BBC Test Match Special
Morkel has put in the yards and got some rewards. He found good length but he's been pushed too hard with eight overs in his first spell. It's been excellent to see his skills and how much he has put in. Let's hope he has the intensity to come back and bowl at the same level.
Morne Morkel, who was looking at his best in the morning's session, lured Westley in with a full delivery. The result? Almost a carbon copy of Cook's wicket.

Andrew Reyes: This surely is Jennings' last chance this summer. Surely if he fails again it is time to call up Stoneman.
Jennings looked tentative against the seamers, at times he was slightly more comfortable playing the spin of Maharaj.
With all eyes on Jennings' performance, it was the other England opener who was first to be dismissed. Ye olde captain Cook going cheaply, ending his series with the bat by playing this loose shot.

Has Keaton Jennings offered a chance, either on nought or single figures, in ALL of his Test innings?
The Yeomanry
Will Keaton Jennings be taking his seat on that plane to Australia in the winter? Or will he even feature in the first Test against the West Indies later this month? He had yet another lifeline this morning when he was dropped on 0.
Lancashire held a ceremony before play (yes, another one!) to unveil a new honours board. In attendance were five of the club's Wisden Cricketers of the Year: Ian Austin, Peter Lee, Jack Simmons, Andrew Flintoff and Clive Lloyd. Some cricketing heavyweights in that bunch.
Right then, time for some clips from today's play.
James Anderson had the opportunity to claim his first five wicket haul at Old Trafford, getting a couple of overs in at the start of the day. However, it was his pal at the other end who took the final South Africa wicket. Well taken by Bairstow.
Some news to bring you from Colombo, where India have completed a series victory over Sri Lanka after winning the second Test by an innings and 53 runs. They bowled out the hosts for 386 in their second dig - but not before Dimuth Karunaratne had hit 141. Ravindra Jadeja finished with 5-152. Full scorecard here.
Cheers, Amy. It certainly is looking a tad murky out there.
This weather forecast does not fill me with much hope.
That's it from me for a bit. I'm off to do an anti-rain dance. Kal Sajad will take you through to tea.

Olivier gets a delivery to slide across Jennings, the ball coming perilously close to taking the edge, and Quinton de Kock makes the appropriate shocked face behind the stumps. Jennings keep his bat straight, defending back down the pitch, and he makes it to lunch without any further scares.
We're going to squeeze in another over before lunch, which is bad news for my hunger levels. It'll be Duanne Olivier to bowl it.

Deltadrift: Stoneman has a worse first-class average than Robson, Lyth, Jennings, Hales & Hameed. Why do folk think he'll be a saviour at Test level?
Root 13, Jennings 17
Maharaj has a brief yelp against Jennings as he pads up to a delivery that turns but, again, the batsman is well outside the line and that would have missed by some way. A reverse sweep from Jennings with a strong flick of the wrist gets him off strike, and Root heads down for a quick chat about what the ball is doing. Root then attempts his own sweep, misses, and the ball drops down at Quinton de Kock's toes.
