  1. WI 74-3published at 30 overs

    Brathwaite 41, S Hope 20

Hope is doing well here. He looked like he could be dismissed at any moment early on but he's ticking along well and is now into the twenties.

He has started to put away the bad balls and either by luck or judgement has missed the good ones.

  2. WI 72-3published at 29.1 overs

That might be the shot of the morning. Too short from Woakes and Hope stays back and drives off the back foot through the covers.

Woakes gives himself a punch in the palm as punishment.

  3. WI 68-3published at 29 overs

    Trail by 190

Broad is definitely struggling now. He bowls one down the leg side and it goes for four byes. A little harsh on Jonny B behind the stumps. He jumped at full stretch but still couldn't get close.

Another couple of singles from the West Indies and it is a pretty comfortable over for them.

You may remember a batsman for West Indies called Daren Ganga - he played 48 Test matches between 1998 and 2008 but averaged just 25.

And you think how can that be? It's reflective of the declining standards in West Indies cricket. He scored two centuries against Australia but never kicked on.

But the team was struggling so much to find consistent batsmen he played far more Test matches than you thought he should.

  5. Woakes finding his rhythmpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

It's taken Chris Woakes a little bit of time to get going this morning - Kraigg Brathwaite was able to find the boundary earlier on...

...but this delivery from Woakes had the TMS commentators purring.

  6. WI 62-3published at 28 overs

    Trail by 196

A few of the West Indies top order are similar in stature - short. That is helping them play late and with soft hands it means the ball isn't carrying to the slips. Hope does just that as he picks up another four down to third man. A lot of runs have gone down there this morning.

Woakes is bowling well now. A pearler to Hope to end the over but it misses the outside edge again. Frustration.

Have you read Heather Knight's latest BBC Sport column yet? The England World Cup-winning captain has been recounting how she lost the trophy while chilling with some friends at the Oval Test later in the week.

Knight writes: "After I'd visited the commentary boxes with the World Cup trophy, I settled down to watch the cricket, with the trophy box being guarding by a member of the Oval security team.

"A few Pimm's later, I had a call from our media manager checking on the whereabouts of the trophy. I told him it was all under control, but little did I realise the security guard had been guarding an empty box!

"Although a mad panic followed, the trophy was located soon after, luckily in the hands of an ECB employee."

  8. WI 58-3published at 27 overs

Brathwaite reminds me a little of Haseeb Hameed in his batting. He's a nuggety player and is battling away well. The opener is playing late and looking to leave when he can but capitalising on the wayward Broad.

He cuts a four to add to Broad's frustrations.

That's a better length from Stuart Broad, he should keep getting the ball as full as he can.

There was an inside edge and pretty big one at that.

  11. Not outpublished at 26.2 overs

Yep. There was indeed an inside edge and the third umpire corrects the decision.

Brathwaite is immediately reviewing, which suggest he thinks he got an inside edge on it.

  13. West Indies reviewpublished at 26.2 overs

Broad hits Brathwaite on the pads. It looks plumb but the opener reviews straight away. An inside edge?

Elliott Sanderson: I'd love for Anderson to get to 499 wickets in this series and then get the 500th in the ashes, would be legendary.

James Todd: Could Jimmy Anderson slow down?! Got a cheap student ticket for day four that seemed a really good idea at the time...

  15. drinks break

    WI 54-3published at 26 overs

The replays show that was an excellent decision from Chris Gaffaney. The ball clipped the back pad of Shai Hope who is all at sea in the Headingley gloom.

Good from England and Root too in deciding against the review. Perhaps the new skipper is learning to say no to his bowlers after some of the decisions earlier in the summer.

    That's drinks.

I watched Bairstow with Root - he didn't say to go for it. He wasn't sure.

    Excellent decision by the umpire.

  17. WI 54-3published at 25.3 overs

That's a beauty from Woakes. It comes in with the arm and then moves away and beats Hope.

Huge appeal from Woakes and Bairstow for caught behind. The umpire shakes his head.

Bairstow pushes for a review but Root decides against it.

  19. WI 50-3published at 25 overs

It is a change of ends for Broad but no change of fortunes for England's second most successful wicket taker.

He starts the over wide of off stump and Brathwaite slaps a cut for four before over correcting and being clipped for another to fine leg.

That's not great bowling. Geoffrey is not impressed with Broad today. I thought he was a little unlucky in his first spell but there you go.

  20. Postpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

Jimmy Anderson's spell is over. He is replaced by Stuart Broad having taken two wickets this morning, the latest that of Kyle Hope.

His figures this morning? Six overs, three maidens, two wickets for five runs.

    Brilliant.
