Stokes is a proper batsman now. He goes about his business like a proper batsman.

Gabriel returns from the other end, a few indifferent deliveries before he gets one to rise and smack Stokes on the thigh pad, close to a very painful area.
Stokes grimaces but stands tall and gets instant revenge, punching off the back foot down the ground for four, via a misfield from Holder.
The big lad couldn't dive in time.

Malan has been passive but Stokes has been more forthright. He's been aggressive without being careless. His innings reflects the tension of the match.
Malan 45, Stokes 29
Bit loose from Roach early on - one fired well down leg that Dowrich leaps fantastically to grab.
Eek, another very wide ball down off now that is somehow not called a wide - Malan gives umpire Ravi a glare.
Short from Roach - Malan pulls it away fine for a four. Touch. He's onto 45.
Malan leaves a couple of wide ones to finish.
Anyway, back to all things England v Windies for now.
The players are back out on the pitch. The new ball has been taken and Kemar Roach will bowl first up to Dawid Malan.
A fascinating session awaits.
Here we go...
Stumps on day two of the first Test between Bangladesh and Australia...and it's not going great for the Aussies.
They were bowled out for 217, with none of their batsmen going past 50 as Shakib al Hasan took 5-68.
In reply, Bangladesh closed on 45-1 in their second innings, a lead of 88.
Does that bring a smile, England fans?

A lively debate on who to pick in England's top five for the Ashes is going on over on TMS.
Listen in by clicking the tab at the top of the page or on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra.
West Indies could not capitalise on that Root wicket, though, also electing against taking the second new ball before lunch.
That allowed Stokes to tuck into the spin duo Bishoo and Chase...
But Malan remains - unlike Root, who once again could not convert a fine start into a century as cut one that bounced by Gabriel to Shai Hope in the gully.
Still, a valuable 72 from the England captain...
At the other end, it was more watchful accumulation from Dawid Malan.
He also had a couple of near misses, flicking Gabriel just up over backward square leg...
And a real let-off as he was dropped on 32 by Powell at first slip...
Joe Root resumed, the England captain key to his side's chances, and Mr Consistency duly brought up his second half-century of the match...
Missed the morning or just fancy recapping? Safe.

Cheers, Matt. Enjoy your lunch.
Belting Test, this. Really glad to finally be involved in a close one - not the highest standard of cricket perhaps, but utterly gripping.
Swanny's right - Windies have somewhat gifted Stokes that decent start and his first innings exploits showed he's not a man the opposition should bestow gifts on.
But England will be very wary of Gabriel, Holder and Roach in the afternoon session.
Anyway. That is me done for now.
Jack Skelton is eagerly waiting to take over and recap that morning session.
See you later.
A good Test match indeed. This is still tantalisingly poised. I assume the new ball will be taken after lunch which the Windies will hope brings wickets but of course it also often brings runs.
Malan has dug in well. Not fluent or to everyone's tastes but he's scrapping his way to a decent score.
The next target for England is a three-figure lead.

Finally we've got a good Test match on our hands! There has been so many one-sided games in the last few summers.
Why, oh why West Indies haven't taken the new ball? They must be giving Gabriel more of a rest but they've let the game drift a bit in the last half hour.
Lead by 82
Stokes brings up the England 250. That must be another target ticked off.
Malan ends the session with a push to mid off to add one more to the total and that is lunch.
A good session for England. 80 runs added with Root the only man to go.
Lead by 80
Just a few minutes to go until lunch.
Unless it's something really bad, Stokes doesn't look like he'll attack as much as previously (see below) with the break almost upon us.
Just the one off the last ball to keep the strike.

Richard Barter: People need to understand that no-one is criticising Root. Just think he should be making bigger scores from the position he gets in.

Holder is missing a trick bowling Bishoo when the second new ball available - he's letting the batsmen get set and get runs.
That was an absolute pie to Stokes.
