Hope 15, Samuels 3
Rashid gives it a bit of flight and Hope, playing against the spin, lofts it over to the mid-on boundary for four.
But that's as good as it gets for the Windies, five dot balls make up the rest of the over.
After that explosive start from West Indies, runs are a bit harder to come by now.
Hope does find the boundary with a toe-ended edge past Buttler and down to third man for four.
Fancy a look back at the two wickets to fall so far this afternoon? Here you go ...

Jonathan Calder: Nice to see Root didn't slip on the wet surface when running for that catch.
Bradford-born Adil Rashid, an experienced member of this ODI team, is introduced in what is his 50th game for England.
Tidy over, a good tight line as Hope struggles to find the gaps. Singles off the final two balls add a coupel more to the West Indies total.
The outfield seems dry enough now. What was all the fuss about, eh?

The problem Willey has had this summer is that the white ball hasn't swung. He has got crucial wickets in the past, early on in the innings.
Hope 5, Samuels 1
So, Marlon Samuels comes in at number four for the tourists. Funnily enough, Ben Stokes has just found his voice.
David Willey, who went for 20 off his opening two overs, returns to the attack. Yorker length, just outside the off stump, Hope looks to dig it out and there's a noise. Buttler is interested behind the stumps, but it was bat on ground rather than ball on bat.
A single down to wide third man to end the over.

It's a wonderful catch and good captaincy too, because Root was at first slip. Because Woakes was taking the pace off, slip wasn't required. It just stuck in the surface and Gayle was through the stroke. Root's heart would have been in his mouth.
Gayle c Root b Woakes 37 (WI 53-2)
Joe Root makes amends with a brilliant catch. Gayle looks to go high and far off Chris Woakes but can't quite find the middle. Root, running towards the deep, takes a fine grab over his shoulder. The danger man is gone.

Would you be bothered about dot balls when you can hit it in to the town centre? It must be wonderful knowing that you could have 20 dot balls and be at a run-a-ball four deliveries later.
Moeen Ali, with the wicket of Evin Lewis to his name, races through his second over. Just the two from it. Hope squeezes one over to the leg side to bring up the West Indies 50.
Moeen has done well to start putting the brakes on this West Indies innings.

Even though Root dropped Gayle, there's a little anxiety creeping in for the bowlers when he starts playing like this.
Gayle 34, Hope 3
Woakes finds the edge of Hope's bat and it falls safely between keeper and first slip.
Oh dear. Chris Gayle has nearly done it again! A direct hit from England and he would have been out. The West Indies opener, running to the non-strikers end, decides not to ground his bat, or even try for that matter. There's a bit of stop/start action in the middle of the wicket and then he takes a leisurely walk to the stumps.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is what happened in the T20 on Saturday.

Chris Gayle had 34 after four overs, which is the most by any batsman in an ODI in this country. It beats the 29 of Sanath Jayasuriya at Leeds in 2006, Adam Gilchrist had the same score at Lord's the year before. The record against England is Brendan McCullum's 48 at the 2015 World Cup.
So Eoin Morgan decides it is time to slow things down a touch and it has done the trick. Moeen Ali - England's number one spinner? Right? Is he? Isn't he?
Just the three runs and a wicket from the over. Shai Hope the new man in.

That's a bonus wicket. It was a long-hop and Lewis hit it really well. It was instinctive from Hales because that was travelling. It's probably not how Morgan thought he would break this partnership, but he will think that it will do.
Lewis c Hales b Moeen 11 (WI 45-1)
Moeen Ali breaks up this opening partnership courtesy of a dodgy ball, a poor shot from Lewis and a decent grab by Hales.
It was short and slow, Lewis looks to pull and but finds Hales at square leg.
