I've already seen one complaint that Kevin Pietersen isn't an option in the England selector. His inclusion was discussed, if only for the sake of mischief. Liam Plunkett after drinks...

On Twitter: I wonder whether England has ever garnered so much of Sri Lankan support & interest in their games vs Windies as they have today!

For those who aren't aware, the final automatic qualification place for the 2019 World Cup is between West Indies and Sri Lanka - the Windies need a big series win to usurp Sri Lanka in eighth place in the ICC ODI rankings, external by the cut-off date of 30 September 2017. Whoever does not qualify will have to enter a qualifying tournament with Afghanistan, Ireland, ZImbabwe and others next year.

Earlier on I told you about the England Ashes selector. Well... (drumroll please)... it's live right now.

You can have a play with it right here.

In fact, the players are taking drinks, so you've got a couple of minutes now.

England will name their squad next week. Before that, we'll reveal the squad you chose.

  6. WI 101-2published at 21 overs

    Samuels 16, Hope 33

The 100 is up for West Indies through a Samuels single off Plunkett. They scored their first 50 in 7.2 overs.

We're at the halfway stage, which is about the right time to bring back Mr Stephan Shemilt to guide you through the rest of this West Indies innings.

West Indies are playing this pretty well. They can pick up if they have wickets in hand. If they bat deep, they will look to accelerate at the back end.

  8. WI 98-2published at 20 overs

    Hope 32, Samuels 15

It is indeed Stokes who has his first bowl of the game. Hope cuts to deep point for a single to bring Marlon Samuels on strike. Let the battle commence ...

Nothing too juicy to tell you I'm afraid as Samuels nudges it to mid-off for a single. No salutes. No words. Not even a stare out.

Bouncer from Stokes, the towering figure of Samuels bends his knees and ducks under. Stokes turns back round and returns to his mark. A play and a miss by Samuels to a full delivery to end the over.

  10. WI 94-2published at 19 overs

Samuels shows some signs of intent as he jigs down the wicket but can only hit it square for one.

The number five again opts to advance down the wicket and take spin out of the equation, but he just can't connect. He has scored 14 from 32 balls.

Ben Stokes is warming up ...

Hope is getting on the front foot and placing it through the mid-wicket region. Plunkett hasn't found his rhythm yet.

  12. WI 91-2published at 18 overs

    Samuels 13, Hope 28

I'd quite like to hear Chris Gayle talking like a pirate. I don't know, but I would.

Plunkett, just like he did in his previous over, can't get his line right and Hope drags a wide delivery outside off through mid-wicket for four.

Samuels and Hope have batted sensibly since that Gayle dismissal. With 24 overs to go and eight wickets in hand, will they soon step it up a gear?

Watching Chris Gayle run always reminds me of the way Captain Jack Sparrow runs along the beaches in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

An appropriate comparison on International Talk Like A Pirate Day...

  14. WI 85-2published at 17 overs

Rashid traps Samuels on the front pad and there's a big appeal from the spinner. He seems convinced it's worth a review. Morgan and Buttler are not as convinced, and rightly so. It hit outside the line and would have been missing.

    Three from the over.

It's much warmer than it was at Durham the other night. Kieron Pollard's a big man, but he had so many layers on, it was like the Incredible Hulk was fielding at long-on.

  16. WI 82-2published at 16 overs

    Hope 23, Samuels 10

Liam Plunkett, with his well groomed beard, comes into the attack. He had a good day with the ball in Saturday's T20 and subsequently said he is enjoying white ball cricket at the moment.

He won't enjoy that very much, though. He offers too much width and Hope pulls it down to the mid-wicket boundary for four.

Good stuff from West Indies - punish the bad balls, work the good balls. Eight from the over.

  18. WI 74-2published at 15 overs

Adil Rashid tosses them up, West Indies content in working the gaps and taking the odd single.

Samuels sweeps one over to the wide long-on boundary, with Alex Hales running round and tidying up with some smart fielding. Aside from the Root drop, England have been good in that department today.

  20. WI 70-2published at 14 overs

Two runs for Marlon Samuels, who slices it past a diving Ben Stokes at point. Is there a bigger rivalry between two current international players that those two?

If you're just joining us, this match has been reduced to 42 overs after a delay due to a wet outfield earlier this afternoon.
