Hearing on the grapevine that it may have stopped raining. Although other reports say it is still raining, just a tad lighter now. Watch this space. Back to the statue chat ...
Sam: I think statues of Shane Watson being given out LBW would be a fitting tribute, one outside every ground it has happened to him.
PD31: How about a statue of Shane Watson requesting a review of a LBW dismissal?
We have been talking about statues of cricketers today. So here's a question for you: Which player (past or present) is deserving of a statue? What will the pose be? And where will it be situated? Or even better, tweet us a picture of you in the pose.

Peter Richardson: RE: Larwood statue (13:56 BST entry), never mind the no-ball, that field has not been set by Mr Jardine!

Re: Eoin Morgan's position in the team. In the modern game there are many, many other non-playing staff around the team to take responsibilities. Hence the captain is expected to earn his place in the team by his playing performance. After all, Eoin Morgan was picked as the captain because he could score runs too.
Uday PVK in Peterborough.
We are hearing that 17:56 BST is the cut-off time in order to get a 20 over-match in.
Will we see play resume?
Here's the latest forecast ... your guess is as good as mine.
Keep your soggy spam to yourself, Marc. On another note ....
You have just two days left to watch the Test Match Special 60th anniversary match on BBC iPlayer.

Making my cricket match attending debut today, completely soaked but brought enough picnic to last a full Test match. Wet spam sandwich, anyone?
Marc in Nottingham
Let's not throw the towel in just yet. As I said, it is due to get a bit better later on. Want to know what has happened so far in this match? I can tell you. Ball-by-ball.

Lots of people looking like they have given up hope of seeing any play and heading out.
Matt at Trent Bridge
A passionate text there, George. Point well made. Anyone disagree? Get in touch.

With regard to Eoin Morgan's position in the team; he is there as captain. Just as Mike Brearley justified his position in the England Test team of the early 1980s mainly (or almost purely) as the very important position of THE CAPTAIN as leader and psychological man manager. So it is with Morgan. Doesn't matter whether he scores any runs or takes any wickets he allows the rest of the team to play to their maximums.
George from Durham
Cheers, Stephan.
I welcome a statue. A big one. Right outside BBC Sport towers.
As for today's game, still no news I am afraid. We are hopeful that the weather will clear up later this afternoon.
Right then, I'm out of here for a while. Here's a man the BBC should have a statue of, Kal Sajad.

Statues are becoming a "thing" in local cricket too. Crowthorne & Crown Wood have just commissioned a double statue of Ravi Godbole and Aran Long in celebration of their 600 and 500 wickets respectively.

More statue news coming up...
