  • Ball 1-94: England's third worst in ODIs

  1. WI 70-1published at 11 overs

The first change in the bowling as Liam Plunkett replaces Jake Ball. Plunkett has had a good series but was slightly wayward at The Oval. Two singles from his third three deliveries, before a wide down the leg side.

Plunkett varies it up with some full, slower and short stuff, as Jake Ball saves at least two runs with a diving one-handed stop at mid-on.

  4. WI 65-1published at 10 overs

    K Hope 22, S Hope 2

Tom Curran swings his arms back and forth in quite a brisk, animated fashion as he runs in. He's close to taking off.

A Shai Hope drive to mid-off brings a single, before Kyle Hope hits in the same area for two more. A good stop from substitute fielder Dawid Malan.

Single to end the over. Four from it.

Hollies bowling Bradman in 1948 for 0. Just think how much more insufferable the Aussies would be if he'd got that 100 average!

    Ball 5-1-48-0

It was Chris Gayle who was causing Jake Ball all sorts of problems, but with him now gone the Mansfield-born bowler continues.

It's looking to be a decent over, but then he goes in short and Kyle Hope picks it up early and pulls to square-leg for four.

Tom Curran looks like he's got that cricket savvy - he knows when to change things up when someone is about to strike him.

    Curran 4-0-13-1

It's brotherly love out there as Shai Hope joins older sibling Kyle.

Kyle steers one through mid-on for a four. Aside from that, a very well executed over by Curran. Getting Chris Gayle out with a slower ball on your debut? Well played.

Well bowled by Tom Curran - it was the slower ball. Chris Gayle got in a bit of a tangle - he had one leg in the air as he tried to belt it over extra cover. But that is a stonking catch - brilliant.

    Gayle c Plunkett b Curran 40 (WI 52-1)

Tom Curran has his first ODI wicket and he has Liam Plunkett to thank, who takes a superb catch.

Gayle walks around his crease, Curran bowls a smart slower ball, Gayle gets into a little bit of a tangle and lofts it high in the air back down the ground and Plunkett takes a fantastic grab running back from mid-off.

Morgan might be ruing this decision to keep Jake Ball on...

    Gayle 40, Hope 11

Eoin Morgan keeps faith with Jake Ball. Not a wise decision. This is getting ridiculous.

Gayle swats the first ball over cover for six, then a one bounce four towards the third-man boundary followed by a huge six over long-on.

West Indies reach 50. Gayle is on 40 off 27 balls. He didn't get off the mark until his 15th ball.

  15. WI 33-0published at 6 overs

    Gayle 23, Hope 9

Kyle Hope hits his first boundary of the game, driving on the front foot to the right of Tom Curran and down to long-on for four. That's all from the over, though. A good, tight line from Curran.

    Chris Gayle has turned up!

Three consecutive sixes. The first, he gets right under it and drives it straight back over the bowler's head. The second, full and wide from Ball and the Windies opener moves his front leg out of the way and sends the ball over extra-cover. The third is also pitched up and is smashed over long-on.

Can you imagine Jonny Bairstow running with Chris Gayle? It would be chaos.

  20. WI 9-0published at 4 overs

The England seamers are causing Windies a few problems here, as Tom Curran goes fuller and Hope plays onto his pads. A few muted appeals for lbw from the slip cordon.

Hope guides the last ball to backward point and looks for a quick single, both openers show a little hesitation so no run taken. Gayle has been prone to a run-out or few this series.
