  • Hazlewood took 6-52 for Australia

  • Group A: Eng 2pts, Aus 1pt, NZ 1pt, Ban 0pts

  1. NZ 205-2published at 33 overs

    Williamson 63, Taylor 46

Mitch Starc is back to try and winkle one of these two out while Steve Smith puffs out his cheeks at point. Taylor whips a ball off his pads and there's a despairing dive from Josh Hazlewood, but he ends up sliding into the boundary rope and that's four. Starc rounds off the over with a big lbw shout against Taylor, but he's the only one who goes up. Wade, behind the stumps, has no interest.

  2. Watch: Williamson hits a boundary off Henriquespublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Kane Williamson in fine fettle, looking to turn the screw?

John Hastings looks so menacing with his shaved head. If he says it's Christmas, you start singing carols.

  4. NZ 199-2published at 32 overs

Five blokes in the crowd dressed as Teletubbies. Of course, there were only four Teletubbies, so they've got two Po's, by the looks of things. John Hastings has replaced Cummins and a sloppy bit of fielding from David Warner, who threw the ball needlessly at the non-strikers, earns him a glare from the bowler. Williamson rounds off the over with a lovely lofted drive that leaves the Australian fielders looking a touch miffed.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

This is a dangerous period for Australia because while Ross Taylor is a notoriously slow starter, he's destructive once he gets going.

  6. NZ 192-2published at 31 overs

    Williamson 58, Taylor 39

Shot! Henriques chucks down a short, slow long hop and Williamson is on it in a flash, pulling it with aplomb to the boundary. Now Taylor's into the act, a wristy whip off his pads and the ball scampers across the outfield.

  7. Watch: Williamson brings up his half-centurypublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

When you are on 49, an easy single is all you need. A dab to fine leg and the New Zealand captain's 38th ODI half-century is complete.

  8. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Cheers, Kal. Right, I reckon New Zealand will still want over 300. They've only lost four overs, after all.

  9. NZ 180-2published at 30 overs

Cummins carries on with his comeback, going for just the two runs.

A muted appeal for leg-before, it was going well over. That's followed by a questionable bouncer which is lucky not to be given a wide.

Steven Smith looks up to the sky, it's still grey and overcast.

I will now leave you in the capable hands of Amy Lofthouse.

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

Taylor has to be the man to take it on himself, take the attack to the bowlers and show that initiative.

  11. NZ 178-2published at 29 overs

Henriques continues to stifle New Zealand. He's bowling tight and just back of a length.

    Two from the over.

I wonder which team will be the happier right now?

  12. 50 runs

50 for Williamsonpublished at 28.1 overs

Off the hips and down to fine leg for the captain's 50.

62 balls it has taken. How important of an innings will that be?

  13. Watch: Williamson hits a sixpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Has Williamson started to pick Aussie spinner Travis Head? This shot would suggest he has, perfectly timed and swept over the ropes.

  14. NZ 176-2published at 28 overs

    Cummins 6-0-54-0

Williamson with soft hands guides one down to third man for an easy single to move one away from his half-century.

Taylor drives one back to the Cummins who picks it up and threatens to throw it back towards the batter. I love it when they do that, no real intention of actually throwing it.

Cummins has gone for some today but a good comeback, just two from the over.

    Time for drinks.

  15. Watch: Williamson slog sweep for fourpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

A lovely boundary square of the wicket from Kane Williamson.

  16. NZ 174-2published at 27 overs

    Williamson 48, Taylor 31

New Zealand are really struggling to get Head away here ....

Is what I was writing until Williamson hit a brilliant slog-sweep and cleared the ropes for six.

50 partnership up in that over, from 64 balls.

It was a controversial decision to leave out Marcus Stoinis for Henriques. This is exactly what Australia needed to do, especially after Luke Ronchi was doing his best Brendon McCullum impersonation.

  18. NZ 166-2published at 26 overs

Well bowled. Henriques angles one into the body, comes off the thigh and loops up to where short leg would have been.

Well batted. Ross Taylor on his tiptoes pulls one for four.

We're down to 20 overs left in this innings.

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

Australia have gained the initiative since Ronchi got out. The run rate has dramatically decreased. Taylor has shown no urgency and they need to try and get those release shots away.

  20. NZ 158-2published at 25 overs

    Williamson 40, Taylor 24

The first wayward delivery from Head and Williamson sweeps that out to the deep square leg boundary for four. Well timed.

But still not a bad over, seven from it.
