Summary

  • One point each - both teams can still go through

  • Aus 83-1 (16 overs): Warner 40*

  1. Aus 37-0published at 6 overs

Wonderful work from Warner, pulling the ball off his hip and away to the fence, one leg cocked slightly in the air. This is good work from Australia, just working the ball here and there, and Mashrafe isn't giving them much to work with.

Here is the first boundary of the Australia innings, Aaron Finch punching the ball away to the ropes.

  3. Aus 28-0published at 5 overs

    Warner 15, Finch 12

Full and low from Mustafizur, and Finch does really well not to get a touch on it. That's a boundary for Warner, in unconvincing fashion; on the pull, a huge swivel and he ends up bottom edging the ball just past his stumps. Mustafizur squares him up in response. A cracking little battle of wills is brewing.

There was no venom in that ball at all. Just drifting at an early 80's pace. Mashrafe fell off at the back end of his action and the ball angled onto the leg side.

  5. Aus 21-0published at 4 overs

    Target 183

Four! Mashrafe's line goes a bit wonky and Finch tickles the ball off his pads and away to the fine leg boundary. The pair then take a quick single as Finch is rapped on the pad, but Warner is quick and the pair get home with plenty of time to spare.

  6. Aus 13-0published at 3 overs

Different conditions, I suppose - Bangladesh batted first on a belter of a pitch against England. Both captains said they wanted to bat first here but with the conditions, and the way the Aussie seamers went about it, this was a good pitch to bowl on. Plus I think Australia were more accurate than England were. The first boundary goes to Finch as he works Mustafizur away for a boundary. Mustafizur responds by beating Finch's outside edge with a peach.

I’m slightly worried that Bangladesh can score over 300 against England but are skilled out for 182 by Australia. Any crumbs of comfort?

  8. Aus 8-0published at 2 overs

    Warner 8, Finch 0

Mashrafe Mortaza will take the second new ball and Aaron Finch can't resist a little nibble outside off stump. Really good line and length, the ball zipping in and then moving away from the bat. Finch blinks furiously and pats away the rest of the over. Above the ground, the Surrey flag blows furiously in the wind.

I'm two hundred yards from the ground down Clapham Road and there's not a drop of rain.

  10. Aus 7-0published at 1 over

    Target 183

Ooh, and David Warner is beaten outside off stump by the first ball from Mustafizur Rahman! That's a lovely delivery, just shaping away from Warner's tentative push forwards. Warner plays across his pad a couple of times before a cracking bit of running between Warner and Finch picks up four runs. It's really, really dark out there.

Cheers, Kal. Say it quietly but there's a hint of blue above The Oval. Mostly covered by grey, mind, but there you go. I suspect Australia are going to tee off here...

Here we go then. Mashrafe Mortaza leading his team out into the middle, Aaron Finch and David Warner will soon follow.

I will leave you with Amy to talk you through Australia's run chase.

It looks like we will have some cricket in just over 10 minutes. Didn't expect that.

And then who better to put an end to the Bangladesh innings than Mitch?

Both sides will keep a good look on the weather now.

The forecast for the afternoon is looking, well frankly, terrible.
