He got a top edge, but what an innings from the man in form. If he had stayed back, perhaps Bangladesh would be hoping he would accelerate in the last few overs. It is another very good knock from the opener.
Tamim c Hazlewood b Starc 95 (Ban 181-7)
How unfortunate!
He misses out on the century. Tamim Iqbal won't be carrying his bat through this innings as he looks to flick one off his legs and edges it to long leg.
Bangladesh will do well to see out their 50.
Zampa 4-1-13-2
A couple of dots from Adam Zampa then Mehedi pushes one into the off to take the single. Brings Tamim on strike, will he go big to reach triple figures? No.
Cheeky ramp shot from Mehedi goes fine for two. He's shown, in his short innings so far, that he will be able to more than hold an end here.
Another decent over from Zampa. The two wickets for him today, here's the second...

I played against Will Greenwood in a school match in 1991. He was quite a useful opening bowler as I found out when I padded up to his first ball and when I heard the death rattle, looked back the off stump was cartwheeling. My team-mates thought it was hysterical and I can still hear the laughter...
Bruce, Suffolk
Tamim 94, Mehedi 10
Tamim intentionally plays one late, guiding it down to third-man for a couple. Soft hands. Scoreboard continues to tick along.
Interesting to see how Bangladesh pace their innings now. Will they look to bat out the 50? Or will they go aggressive soon? What impact will the rain have on this game and their approach? Intriguingly poised, but first up there is the matter of Tamim's century. He's six away.

Bangladesh will be hoping that Tamim stays until the very end. He is their last hope.
Tamim 91, Mehedi 9
Josh Hazlewood has completed his allocated overs for the day. Six from the over as he ends with figures of 10-0-40-1.
Those blokes dressed as Beefeaters who have been drumming away all tournament are taking a break, rocking back on their deck chairs, hand behind their heads.

Ripper Street Jerome Flynn was a decent cricketer for Ide Hill in Kent. Got the acting/cricketing genes from his father Eric.
Kenny K
The players are staying on for now.
Four from Mehedi, on the backfoot drags one past fine-leg. Shot.
So, Adam Zampa's hair ... I was about to describe it but you can see for yourself below ...

If they can manage to score 250, they've done really good. It's not going to be easy. If Tamim keeps losing players from the opposite end, Bangladesh will not be be able to score that many runs.
Tamim 83, Mehedi 1
Just the one over from Maxwell as Hazlewood comes back in.
Mehedi gloves one down to fine-leg to get off the mark.
It's looking more and more likely that Tamim will carry his bat in this innings.
Umbrellas are out, there's a fella in the crowd holding a 'four' sign over his head to take cover. Doesn't bode well.

That was a good piece of bowling from Zampa, a little bit quicker. It was a lovely delivery. It's two in two for Zampa.
Mahmudullah b Zampa 8 (Ban 153-6)
Zampa's done it again and Bangladesh in trouble.
Mahmudullah looks to push into the off and plays on. It kept low but misjudged.
Tamim 80, Mahmudullah 7
So Glenn Maxwell is handed the ball as Steve Smith looks to skittle through this middle to lower order.
Three singles from Bangladesh before the new(ish) man Mahmudullah gets under one and hoicks one over long-on for a six.

Dirty Den from Eastenders turned out for a team of actors on a Sunday we used to play against. Threatened to bury the umpire under the pub opposite the ground for not giving a LBW. We couldn't tell if he was joking
Tom from Newbury
Wicket-maiden from Zampa. Superb over from the lad. Bowling tight, good length and restricting the Bangladesh batsmen.
Zampa's also got very cool hair, more on that later.

Sabbir smoked it straight at extra-cover. It was perfect catching height and Steve Smith has bucket hands. He doesn't drop those.
Sabbir c Smith b Zampa 8 (Ban 141-5)
A change in the bowling and it works! Adam Zampa is brought in and his leg-breaks do the trick, Sabbir pushing one straight to Steve Smith at extra-cover.

Tamim has been the glue that has held this innings together. He's got runs against England and Australia, two of the best sides in the world. This has been a fine knock.
