Imad has been brilliant today. He doesn't give it much air, but the odd ball is gripping a bit.

  2. SA 66-3published at 17 overs

    Imad 5-0-10-2

A bit of a rebuilding job to be done here as South Africa lose three wickets within 21 runs.

Du Plessis works it to short fine leg, Miller wants a single but is rightly sent back. Last thing they need now is a run out.

Another tight, tidy over from Imad.

  3. Amla's dismissalpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

After the seamers did well first up, Pakistan's spinners turned up.

Here's the first wicket to fall today ...

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

It's the third day this pitch has been used. It hasn't turned, but the odd ball will grip. The spinners have bowled very well.

  5. SA 63-3published at 16 overs

    Du Plessis 9, Miller 2

David Miller joins Faf du Plessis in the middle.

There's a shout for leg-before to end the over, no conversation about reviewing, wasn't going on to hit.

Pakistan look a completely different team from the India game, Hafeez diving to his right to field well off his own bowling.

    Time for drinks.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

I've never known AB de Villiers to be out first ball. This is the man who can do anything. Except, it seems, deal with a wide half-volley from the left-arm spinner.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.4 overs

    De Villiers c Hafeez b Imad 0

De Villiers out for a golden duck! How often do you hear that? It's wide from Imad, AB de Villiers stretches and finds Hafeez at backward point.

Pakistan spinners are having some fun.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

De Kock just turned and walked off. He knew he was out. That all happened because of the pressure Pakistan have built up with dot ball after dot ball.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.6 overs

De Kock lbw b Hafeez 33

De Kock advances down the wicket and whips it over long-on for a one bounce four. A bit of intent for the first time in a while.

But how does he follow that? Looks to sweep a straight one and misses it entirely. No question about that decision. Both openers now gone.

  10. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Quinton de Kock is batting quite pedestrian. The pressure is building. He won't like this.

  11. SA 55-1published at 13 overs

De Kock 29, Du Plessis 6

They should have reviewed it. Replays show enough of the ball was hitting for the decision to have been overturned.

Imad with another tidy over, South Africa can't seem to get the ball outside the circle. Just the one from it.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

There's been much more energy from Pakistan today. They are buzzing around between balls, which is what you want as a captain. They just need to maintain it throughout the match.

  13. SA 54-1published at 12 overs

Pakistan, I said you can't afford to be sloppy in the field. Worked off the legs and the Fakhar Zaman running in from the deep does everything right, but forgets to pick up the ball and throw it in.

There's an appeal for lbw, followed by a discussion on whether to review. It looked like it might be going down leg. Close though.

    Graeme Smith
Ex-South Africa captain on BBC Test Match Special

When you play sub-continent teams you have to watch your partner and not rely on calls because the crowd is usually so loud you can't hear each other.

  15. SA 50-1published at 11 overs

The wicket-taker Imad continues. Misfield at mid-wicket gifts South Africa a run. They've been good in the field, can't afford to be sloppy now.

Fine over, just three from it as South Africa reach their 50.

    Graeme Smith
Ex-South Africa captain on BBC Test Match Special

The Pakistan fielders are sitting rather deep. I'd like to see them come in and squeeze South Africa a little bit.

  17. SA 47-1published at 10 overs

    de Kock 24 , du Plessis 3

Spin from both ends as Mohammad Hafeez replaces Junaid Khan. Comical, the ball slips out the top of his hand near to the end of his action, signaled a dead ball.

de kock finds the gap on the leg as Hafeez goes too straight. They run three.

Pakistan vocal and buzzing after that Amla dismissal. He was looking decent.

This is an excellent look. It's not often you can say such things about a green tinsel wig. But this is good. Very good.

  19. SA 41-1published at 9 overs

So the spin, sunglasses and Peter Andre-esque curtains of Imad have done the trick. It just skidded straight on and would have clipped the top of the stumps.

Just two from the rest of the over as du Plessis joins the de Kock at the crease.

  20. Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Graeme Smith
Ex-South Africa captain on BBC Test Match Special

It looked good from here. It's a new ball, which skidded on and the crowd are going mad. There was a massive yell when the finger went up.
