  1. 6 runs

    Aus 271-9published at 49.1 overs

Six again! Short from Stokes and Head smacks it over mid-wicket.

    Important runs!

  2. Aus 265-9published at 49 overs

Strike! Travis Head grabs hold of a short one and hits a maximum. Stokes does his best to emulate Jason Roy but he just needed to be about three foot taller to get his paws on that one.

Before that, Head edged one high to third man but Wood, running in, just couldn't get to it.

Clever from Ball at the end of the over, a slow ball bouncer and Head doesn't quite know what to do with it.

Mark Savile: #RoyIn for that bit of pure brilliance alone.

Chris Davies: How many runs is that catch worth? @JasonRoy20 already in credit.

Jay: That catch was worth 60-70 runs. Remember that when you call for Roy's head after he fails again in this innings.

In the chaos of all those wickets, we haven't really had time to enjoy that Jason Roy catch from earlier ...

  5. 50 runs

50 for Headpublished at 48 overs

    Aus 258-9

Australia in survival mode. Some wide stuff from Stokes but he can get away bowling like that to number 11 Josh Hazlewood.

Travis Head reaches his half-century but he's seen partners come and go.

Mark Wood has bowled superbly, as has Adil Rashid. Here are Rashid's wickets from this Australia collapse.

4-33 are Mark Wood's best figures in ODI cricket.

Australia have lost 5-15 in 26 balls. That's like an England collapse in the old days.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 46.4 overs

    Zampa b Wood 0 (Aus 254-9)

And another one. Adil Rashid has four wickets, Mark Wood wanted four wickets. A full toss, the new man Zampa can't get any willow on it and it crashes into the stumps.

An utter collapse for Australia. Be surprised if they bat out their allotted 50.

4-41 are Rashid's best figures against Australia. He's only the second England spinner to bowl a full 10 overs against Australia without conceding a boundary. Michael Yardy was the last in 2011.

A horrible way to get out. Cummins is about 6ft 5in, and he gets out poking one back to the bowler. That was a little bit quicker - he tried to nudge into mid-wicket for one and he just lollipopped a catch back. Well bowled, Adil Rashid.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 46 overs

    Cummins c&b Rashid 4 (Aus 253-8)

"Barmy Army, Barmy Army" rings around Edgbaston. Morgan keeps his faith in Rashid's leg spin in the 46th over and rightly so. Another easy caught and bowled and Australia are eight down.

Wood and Rashid are the most economical bowlers of those who have bowled 15-plus overs in the tournament, of which there are 28.

  15. Aus 249-7published at 45 overs

In the space of a few overs or so, Australia are looking at a completely different end to their innings. They will now want to make sure they bat out all 50.

England with a spring in their step, the crowd cheering every ball and every stop. Wood does well to get low down and field off his own bowling. He concedes just four.

Travis Head is still in there, mind-you, he's on 48.

Australia need to get themselves together here. There's still seven overs left.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44 overs

    Starc c Root b Rashid 0 (Aus 245-7)

Rashid does it again! This time it's full, the new man Starc looks to sweep and another top edge. This time just as easy a catch for Root. Australia definitely in a spot of trouble.

Rashid will not take an easier catch in international cricket than that. It's an extraordinary dismissal.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.3 overs

    Wade c&b Rashid 2 (Aus 245-6)

The googly does the trick! Adil Rashid has his second of the day with the one that turns the other way. Matthew Wade top edges it and it loops in the air for an absolute dolly for Rashid.

Australia in a spot of trouble perhaps.

Doesn't matter how many times you see that sort of rope-skipping on the boundary - it astonishes you every time.
