  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34.2 overs

    Shakib c Dhoni b Jadeja 15 (Ban 177-4)

The pressure tells on Bangladesh again. This time, Shakib tries to cut a straight delivery that's far too close to his body and he edges it off the toe of the bat behind to MS Dhoni.

A bright little cameo but Bangladesh needed more from their outstanding all-rounder. India have smothered Bangladesh's endeavour by fizzing through these overs from Jadeja and Jadhav.

  2. Ban 177-3published at 34 overs

Jadhav continues to race through his deliveries and concedes just two singles off his fifth over.

It's proven a really shrewd move to bring him on. He's gone at fewer than four runs an over and taken a wicket despite showing minimal effort.

Bangladesh have to look to dominate in the middle period. The big crescendo is the final 10 overs. You can extend that to 12 overs if you have wickets in hand and batsmen in the shed who are in form.

  4. Ban 175-3published at 33 overs

    Mushfiqur 59, Shakib 14

Finally! A boundary! Jadeja drops short outside off and Shakib makes no mistake, cutting through backward point for four.

Four singles and a dot follow. Better over for Bangladesh. When do they look to attack again?

  5. Ban 167-3published at 32 overs

    Jadhav 4-016-1

Jadhav still proving difficult to get away. Kohli will be delighted with his part-timer. He'll be delighted with own fielding off the final ball of the over too, picking up and throwing in one fluid movement to prevent a single.

  6. Ban 165-3published at 31 overs

India are really turning the screw since that Tamim wicket. Bangladesh are dealing exclusively in singles at the moment. And they'd slowed down even before that wicket - no boundaries in nine overs now.

I reckon Kedhar Jadhav has the laziest bowling action I've ever seen in international cricket.

Lazy but effective. Tamim won't want to see his wicket again, but you, dear reader, can below...

  8. Ban 161-3published at 30 overs

Jadhav continues to trundle in and sling down. It's still proving effective as new man Shakib Al Hasan and the set Mushfiqur take five runs from the over.

So Bangladesh reach 161 after 30 overs. Double that is 322. Or do we double the score after the 32nd over now? Or is all of that just nonsense?

Intriguing last 20 overs of the innings to come either way.

That was a rather drab end to a lively innings from Tamim, the highlight of which were three cracking consecutive boundaries off Ashwin...

  10. Ban 156-3published at 29 overs

    Jadeja 6-0-30-0

This is exactly what Kohli was looking for - Jadhav has claimed a cheap wicket and Jadeja exerts pressure at the other end with a tight over. Only two from it.

That is extraordinary. It was one of the most mediocre overs you'll ever see, but mightily effective. A big wicket for India.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 28 overs

    Tamim b Jadhav 70 (Ban 154-3)

Jadhav lollops up to the crease to sling down his low, languid off-spinners. Five utterly unremarkable deliveries pass before the part-timer gets one through Tamim Iqbal's defences.

A brilliant innings ended by bowling perhaps more at place in your local pub team. Cricket the great leveller. Bit of a rogue swipe across the line by Tamim but you'd have expected him to connect with his eye in.

I think Bangladesh, from this position, have the perfect platform and you'd expect them to be getting 320. I reckon India would shake hands on 300 now.

  14. Ban 152-2published at 27 overs

Good response from Jadeja with a couple of dot balls, followed by a couple of singles to concede just four off the over.

That's a 26th ODI half-century for Mushfiqur and it's one that's seen plenty of exquisite orthodox strokes - and the odd bit of creativity...

  15. 50 runs

50 FOR MUSHFIQURpublished at 26.2 overs

    Ban 150-2

A leg-bye off the first ball of Jadeja's fifth over puts Mushfiqur on strike and the former skipper nicks one away safely to bring up a very impressive half-century off 61 balls.

I really enjoy watching Mushfiqur bat - he's a fine player who led Bangladesh for many years. He's only tiny but very powerful - like myself. I saw you looking at me when I said tiny, Charles.

  18. Ban 148-2published at 26 overs

    Tamim 69, Mushfiqur 49

Jadhav races through his first over, happy to concede a single off every ball. A respite in the boundary-hitting but still six from the over for Bangladesh.

Cheers Amy. There's a change in the India bowling too as Kedar Jadhav prepares to send down his part-time off-tweakers. Can Bangladesh tuck in or is this a smart move from Kohli?
