  1. Ban 142-2published at 25 overs

A fielder pings in a dreadful throw from mid-wicket, the ball nowhere near the stumps, and that allows Mushfiqur to nab a single from Jadeja's first ball. Jadeja stomps back in, headband firmly in place, and again, the batsmen go deep into the crease to shovel the ball up the field. Kohli strides around, head up high, the cogs in his brain going firmly around.

Have Ravi Jadeja and Dutch darting sensation Michael van Gerwen ever met? Have they even heard of each other? Do they know they know they share a song to the tune of White Stripes' Seven Nation Army? Does Jack White know his contribution to cricket and darts?

  3. Ban 137-2published at 24 overs

    Tamim 65, Mushfiqur 42

India might have a problem here. Bangladesh are just ticking along nicely. There's nothing really that extravagant, just rolls of the wrists to work the ball here and there. They score off every ball in this latest Ashwin over, a dink here, a drive there.

Tamim has shown that if you take your time, you can get the measure of a pitch and then explode later.

  5. Ban 130-2published at 23 overs

    Jadeja 3-0-20-0

Tamim Iqbal's late cut is my new favourite thing. It's a lovely shot, the batsman so deep in his crease and bending low to guide the ball away off the top of the bat to beat the keeper. Jadeja fizzes through his over again, seven runs coming from it.

I like that Bangladesh are not afraid of either of these spinners and are going after them.

  7. Ban 123-2published at 22 overs

    Tamim 62, Mushfiqur 31

Ashwin and Kohli have a brief mid-over chat and Ashwin serves up some width that Tamim lashes to the boundary. Kohli, who always looks a bit grouchy, looks even more unimpressed. And again! A dart of the feet and Tamim opens his arms wide, driving over the field and down to the ropes. And one more boundary for good measure, a roll of the wrists and Yuvraj can't chase down the ball down. Lovely work from the Bangladesh opener.

I think that's just about a fair decision.

    Ban 109-2

And indeed, it's not out. Safe by the slide of a foot. That was good work from Dhoni, though, really quick to react and knock the zing bails off.

Ooft, that is close! Mushfiqur is just on the line, I think, by maybe a big toe? That's tight...

Now then. Has Dhoni stumped Mushfiqur? We're going upstairs for a look.

Tamim Iqbal has just overtaken Shikhar Dhawan as the tournament's leading run scorer.

  14. Ban 105-2published at 20 overs

    Tamim 50, Mushfiqur 25

Tamim's been in great form throughout this Champions Trophy. A century in the opening match against England and 95 against Australia. The only real blip was a duck against New Zealand. Ashwin drags things back from India, trapping Mushfiqur in his crease, until the batsman steal a single from the final ball of the over.

A slightly streaky way to go to 50 but Tamim likes an aggressive shot every now and then.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Tamimpublished at 19 overs

    Ban 104-2

The strains of The White Stripes is currently blaring around Edgbaston, which means one thing: Ravi Jadeja is about to bowl. There's so many cricketers that have that song as their theme tune. Jadeja walks in to bowl, casual as you like, and Mushfiqur pushes to mid-wicket to bring up Bangladesh's 100. Reverse-sweep from Tamim, and the ball just flies over a fielder's head to pick up a boundary and take him to his half-century!

  18. Ban 96-2published at 18 overs

    Tamim 43, Mushfiqur 23

There's a conga going around the bottom of the Eric Hollies Stand. They've got a toy tiger lofted above their heads. Ravichandran Ashwin will continue and he whirls through another over, Mushfiqur guiding a wide delivery away to pick up a couple. There's still dark grey skies hovering menacingly above the ground but there's blue sky just behind it.

Time for drinks, which gives Virat Kohli a chance to have a chat with his players. That's been a thoroughly entertaining first hour of cricket.
