  1. SUSSEX BEAT LEICESTERSHIRE BY FIVE WICKETSpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 12 June 2017
    Breaking

    Leicestershire 340 & 175 v Sussex 284 & 234-5 (68.3 overs)

Sussex move up to fifth in the Division Two table, leapfrogging Glamorgan, as Luke Wells slices a delivery from Harry Dearden backward of point for a boundary to see them to their third win of the season.

The left-hander finishes on 90 not out at Grace Road, having struck two sixes and 11 fours in all during his 190-ball innings.

Leicestershire managed to take three wickets after the visitors resumed on 100-2, but it was not enough and they remain next to bottom - and winless.

They are next in action on 19 June with an away game against leaders Notts, while Sussex are in action against South Africa A at Hove on Wednesday.

  3. Notts' Wessels on for a rare bowlpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Gloucestershire 303 & 124-3 (48 overs) v Nottinghamshire 535-8d

Riki Wessels hasn't bowled since 2014 for Nottinghamshire, but with Chris Dent (71 not out) and Graeme van Buuren (32 not out) looking comfortable, captain Chris Read has thrown him the ball.

Gloucestershire's batsmen take three from his opening over.

  4. wicket

WICKET Gregory (c Carver b Sidebottom) 26published at 14:07 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Yorkshire 202 & 283 v Somerset 224 & 231-7 (77 overs)

You don't take the number of first-class wickets Ryan Sidebottom has in his career without being persistent. There's number 751 as Lewis Gregory is caught at cover.

Yorkshire need three more for victory - but Somerset are only 31 short of their target as Jamie Overton joins his brother Craig (30*) in the middle.

  5. wicket

    WICKET Livingstone (c Simpson b Roland-Jones) 22published at 14:06 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Middlesex 180 & 236 v Lancashire 309 & 49-2 (11.4 overs)

Liam Livingstone's fun is cut short, but surely it's too late for Middlesex to save this game. Toby Roland-Jones picks up a second wicket - and John Simpson another catch - as Livingstone edges behind.

Captain Steven Croft comes in to join Haseeb Hameed.

  6. Tykes look to Sidebottompublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Yorkshire 202 & 283 v Somerset 224 & 226-6 (75 overs)

    Craig OvertonImage source, Rex F

If this isn't the last throw of the dice by Yorkshire, it's pretty close to it, as Ryan Sidebottom returns to the attack, but Craig Overton guides the ball to third man for a boundary as he moves on to 29, with Somerset just 36 away from their target.

  7. Livingstone celebrating his call-uppublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Middlesex 180 & 236 v Lancashire 309 & 43-1 (10 overs)

Liam Livingstone has just been called up for England's T20 squad for the upcoming games against South Africa. He's busy celebrating out in the middle at Southport and is 22 not out off 16 deliveries.

Lancashire need just 65 more runs to win.

  8. Browne off to a flierpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Surrey 399 & 288 v Essex 435 & 74-1 (23 overs)

Having dismissed Alastair Cook just before lunch, Ravi Rampaul must have been feeling pretty good. Three fours in one over by Nick Browne may have put a stop to that. Tom Westley is settling in at the other end, with Essex requiring another 179 for their first win over Surrey in eight Championship games.

  9. wicket

WICKET Wright (c Horton b Chappell) 17published at 13:52 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Leicestershire 340 & 175 v Sussex 284 & 201-5 (60.1 overs)

Is there to be a sting in the tail at Grace Road? Well no, because Foxes, unlike scorpions, don't have stings - or do they?

Zak Chappell makes a breakthrough for the home side by removing Luke Wright after yiedling two boundaries in his previous over. Luke Wells is still there on 72 and Sussex need another 31 as Michael Burgess comes out to bat.

  10. Overton in positive moodpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Yorkshire 202 & 283 v Somerset 224 & 213-6 (72 overs)

It looks like Yorkshire are going to persist with spin and Craig Overton lofts Karl Carver down the ground for four in the first over after lunch. Somerset are just 49 away from victory now.

  11. Hameed searching for formpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Middlesex 180 & 236 v Lancashire 309 & 23-1 (7.5 overs)

Haseeb Hameed has been in poor form of late. The 20-year-old is averaging just 15 runs in the County Championship with just 138 runs scored this season.

He has two runs from 22 deliveries so far and will be hoping to find some form, with England's opening Test match of the summer approaching, against South Africa at Lord's on 6 July.

My goodness this is tense! Somerset looked to be cruising to victory when Adam Hose and Steven Davies were together. But a rash shot apiece proved their undoing and brought a persevering Yorkshire right back into it. At lunch, Somerset need 57; Yorkshire four wickets. It couldn't be tighter!

  16. Wells 'at resolute best'published at 13:11 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

Leicestershire have given everything this morning, particularly Ben Raine, who has taken three of the wickets to fall in the innings so far, and Clint McKay.

However, they've been up against Luke Wells at his resolute best, his undefeated 68 coming in 161 balls as Sussex edge towards a victory that would take them to fifth in the table

    Middlesex 180 & 236 v Lancashire 309 & 13-1 (5.4 overs)

There's the wicket Middlesex really needed. Toby Roland-Jones picks up a first wicket in the match, having opener Alex Davies caught behind by John Simpson.

Lancashire need a further 95 runs to win as we go for a slightly early lunch at Southport.

  19. wicket

WICKET Cook (c Borthwick b Rampaul) 31published at 13:02 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Surrey 399 & 288 v Essex 435 & 53-1 (18.4 overs)

Having survived a loud lbw shout from Mark Footitt earlier in his innings, Alastair Cook goes to the last ball before lunch at Guildford, taken in the safe hands of Scott Borthwick at second slip.

Essex need another 200 for victory, but that will certainly put an extra spring in Surrey's collective stride when the game resumes after the interval. Nick Browne, meanwhile, is 18 not out.

  20. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 12 June 2017

    Gloucestershire 303 & 100-3 (40 overs) v Nottinghamshire 535-8d

Chris Dent (50 not out) and Graeme van Buuren (29 not out) reach lunch at Bristol. Their partnership is worth 65 runs. Still a long way to go, but good stuff nonetheless from the pair after Harry Gurney's early breakthroughs.
