  2. 'Derbyshire favourites'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Glamorgan 237 & 64-4 v Derbyshire 288 & 160

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

An astonishingly mature display from 16-year-old spinner Hamidullah Qadri on debut has made Derbyshire favourites for their first Championship win in 710 days.

Qadri has bowled virtually unchanged through the first session, dismissing Timm van der Gugten for 5 and key man Colin Ingram for 9.

With Owen Morgan falling to Jeevan Mendis for 7, it's been tortuous stuff for the home crowd.

Nick Selman has batted through the session for 30, but new batsman Aneurin Donald has already survived two short-leg chances, one regulation and one difficult, off Qadri.

Every nerve in the house is being jangled, with Glamorgan still 148 short of victory.

    Hampshire 211-9 dec & 50-2 v Somerset 147

It's also the end of the first session at Hampshire.

The game appears to be drifting towards a draw - Rilee Rossouw (14 not out) and James Vince (7 not out) will resume after the break with a lead of 114.

    Bloomin' rain!

  6. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Essex 542-3 dec v Middlesex 246 & 113-3

Ah, tea at 4pm - I wasn't quite sure if they were going to go off at 4.10pm because of Tuesday's washout.

In fairness, I still don't know if it's even called tea.

Anyway, the players are leaving the field - Nick Compton and Paul Stirling have made sure it was an even session after those three early wickets for Simon Harmer.

  7. Bat-pad?!published at 15:59 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Essex 542-3 dec v Middlesex 246 & 113-3

    Howzaaaaaat?!

Paul Stirling pops one up into the hands of Ryan ten Doeschate at silly-point off Dan Lawrence and the Essex skipper appeals for a catch.

    The umpire shakes his head.

Probing over from the part-time spinner first up though.

  8. Gloucestershire two downpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Sussex 358-9d & 142-1d v Gloucestershire 150-1d & 30-2

Sussex have made some inroads at Hove. Gloucestershire openers Cameron Bancroft and Chris Dent have both been dismissed. Jofra Archer and Abidine Sakande with the wickets.

The away side need 321 to win - a total that is already feeling nominal. Sussex need eight wickets for the win.

  9. Postpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Essex 542-3 dec v Middlesex 246 & 111-3

Paul Stirling and Nick Compton have been together for 22 overs now.

It has to be said that apart from a couple of edges, they've looked relatively untroubled.

Essex will need to be patient. Dan Lawrence replaces Simon Harmer with five minutes to go until tea.

  10. Play to resume at 16:30 BSTpublished at 15:53

    Notts 371 v Kent 180 & 214-7

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Play will start at 4.30pm, all being well with the weather.

There are 67 overs scheduled to be bowled and tea will be at 6.40pm (if play goes on that long).

Kent will resume on 214-7, a lead of 23 over Notts – but they are effectively eight wickets down as Darren Stevens won’t return to the crease after retiring hurt yesterday.

  11. 'Drizzle is back'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Warwickshire 321 v Lancashire 273 & 178-4 - start delayed, rain

"Lunch" is now officially being taken, meaning a 16:10 BST start is possible, but after a brief brighter (or less grey) spell, the heavier drizzle is back.

After offering the possibility of an exciting finish today, the match looks increasingly condemned to finishing as a dead draw.

WICKET Dawson (b Groenewald) 20published at 15:49 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Hampshire 211-9 dec & 31-2 v Somerset 147

Hampshire are two down - Liam Dawson is gone.

Somerset seamer Tim Groenewald nips one back into the England all-rounder and it beats him all ends up.

    It was an absolute beauty.

James Vince is the new man in.

    Simon HarmerImage source, Rex Features

Spinner Simon Harmer will be appearing on BBC Essex's Around the Wicket show on Saturday afternoon (14:00 BST - 18:00 BST).

Paul Hawkins will be chatting to the 28-year-old South African about his superb first season at the County Ground.

He'll also be taking calls from listeners. Well worth a listen!

  14. Derbyshire turning up the pressurepublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Glamorgan 237 & 42-4 v Derbyshire 288 & 160

Hamidullah Qadri has another wicket. The dangerous Colin Ingram is gone, having chipped the ball to mid-on for 9.

Aneurin Donald has been given a life too, having been dropped first ball off Qadri's bowling by Alex Hughes at short leg. Derbyshire are turning up the pressure.

Fifty for Comptonpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Essex 542-3 dec v Middlesex 246 & 107-3

    Nick ComptonImage source, Rex Features

    Well batted Nick Compton.

Simon Harmer bowls one short and wide, his first bad ball of the day, and the Middlesex opener slaps him to the boundary to bring up his half-century off 111 balls.

It's a first fifty of the summer for Compton, but he'll want plenty more.

  16. dropped catch

Cook spills onepublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Essex 542-3 dec v Middlesex 246 & 101-3

There's the chance Essex wanted, but it's dropped.

Paul Walter finds Paul Stirling's outside edge, it flies to Alastair Cook at slip but he can't hold it.

    Should have been taken.

  17. 'Northants drop Cosgrove twice'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Northants 261 & 289-7 dec v Leicestershire 157 & 124-2 (target 394)

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton sport

Northants were frustrated last night, not taking a wicket in 16 overs they had under the floodlights and they continue to be a little frustrated on day four.

They did strike twice within the first seven overs to remove both openers but have since dropped Mark Cosgrove twice - both pretty straightforward chances - and Colin Ackerman is providing rather stubborn resistance.

Northants are still favourites to go and win this game but it's set to be hard work and a special Cosgrove innings could give Leicestershire a sniff.

Another cloudy day here and a little bit of movement with the pink ball but interestingly, the ball was changed just after the 30 over mark, exactly as it was yesterday afternoon.

Match abandoned at Headingleypublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Yorkshire 27-1 v Surrey 516-7 dec

The 15:30 BST inspection has brought bad news I'm afraid. The bowlers' run-ups at the Kirkstall Lane End are not going to dry in time - game over, match drawn.

What an incredibly frustrating couple of days in West Yorkshire. The locals will want to forget this one in a hurry!

Yorkshire earn seven points, Surrey take 10 back to The Oval.

This has been some innings from Nick Compton so far.

The former England opener moves to within six runs of his half-century with a boundary off Paul Walter - his fifth to go with a six.

    100 balls and counting.
