Essex continued their hunt for their first Division One title in 25 years as a spectacular five-wicket haul from fast bowler Mohammad Amir saw the visitors bowl Yorkshire out for just 113 in their first innings at Scarborough.

Despite being without Alastair Cook, who scored over 667 runs in seven Championship matches for the visitors, an unbeaten 61 from captain Ryan ten Doeschate gave his side a handy lead on a tricky batting pitch.

The hosts will be looking to wrap up the Essex innings quickly as they look to claw themselves back into the match and into the title race.
