  • Notts Outlaws beat Birmingham Bears by 22 runs in final at Edgbaston

  • Notts win first domestic T20 title

  • Notts posted 190-4, Bears replied with 168-8

  1. Birmingham Bears 145-5published at 17 overs

    de Grandhomme 18, Thomason 4

This is the business end of the Bears innings, and to me this seems finely poised.

Aaron Thomason has settled well, but Glamorgan concede only six from the over.

If that rate continues the Welsh side will be in the driving seat.

  2. Hulkamaniapublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

That wicket for Michael Hogan lets the Glamorgan social media team have some fun, picturing their man as former wrestler Hulk Hogan.

  3. Postpublished at 16.3 overs

    Birmingham Bears 142-5

One minute Grant Elliott is sweeping a ball for four... but shortly after it's all over for the Bears captain.

Things can change so quickly in T20 cricket.

  4. wicket

WICKET Elliott (c Meschede b Hogan) 32published at 16 overs

    Birmingham Bears 139-5

I was just about to say how this partnership between Grant Elliott and Colin de Grandhomme is creeping up on the sly.

But Michael Hogan takes a timely wicket - Elliott drags his shot and Craig Meschede takes a simple catch in the field.

  5. Birmingham Bears 129-4published at 15 overs

    Elliott 27, de Grandhomme 11

My suspicions were correct - Bears captain Grant Elliott has decided it's now or never.

Back-to-back boundaries set the tone and he moves to 27 off 22 balls.

Glamorgan have a run-out opportunity but Graham Wagg is just off-target and the diving Colin de Grandhomme makes it relatively comfortably.

  6. 'Minimum of 180'published at 11:56 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Birmingham will be thinking a minimum of 180 from here. Teams bat all the way down, so they will look to keep going.

  7. Birmingham Bears 114-4published at 14 overs

    Elliott 17, de Grandhomme 6

Have the Bears lost all momentum here?

Colin Ingram, who's bowled solidly throughout, restricts the hosts to five runs off his final over.

The scoreboard is ticking slowly... are they saving wickets so they can go crazy in these last six overs?

  8. 'Oh Glammy, Glammy'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

It is a big day for Welsh sport.

Later on, the Wales football team play Austria in a must-win World Cup qualifying match and the team's Twitter page has sent support to Glamorgan.

  9. Birmingham Bears 108-4published at 13 overs

    Elliott 13, de Grandhomme 4

Phew - we've finally had a bit of a lull in this semi-final.

We have eight runs from Craig Meschede's latest over, with both Grant Elliott and Colin de Grandhomme hanging around.

At their current rate the Bears wouldn't reach 170 - so they need to think about upping the ante soon.

  10. 'Anything above 180 would be a par score'published at 11:50 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Birmingham Bears first-team coach Jim Troughton tells BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "A good start, Polly (Ed Pollock) has done that in pretty much every game.

"We are talking what a par score would be and that is anything above 180. A great knock from Ed and it is a good start."

  11. Birmingham Bears 101-4published at 12 overs

    Elliott 8, de Grandhomme 2

The Bears stop the flow of wickets, but will soon have to think about scoring heavily once more.

Are Grant Elliott and Colin de Grandhomme the pair to build another partnership?

  12. 'Glamorgan have been excellent in the last few overs'published at 11:47 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on Test Match Special on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Hain was looking to get down on one knee and sweep Meschede.

That is a big wicket for Glamorgan and these wickets are coming in a cluster and that's what you can't afford to do, but Glamorgan have been excellent in the last few overs.

They didn't let their heads go down, stayed positive and their fielding has been really good.

  13. Birmingham Bears 95-4published at 11 overs

    Elliott 3, de Grandhomme 1

This game continues to slowly turn in favour of Glamorgan.

They've held their nerve after an awful start and are taking regular wickets.

In case you haven't kept up, the Bears now have Grant Elliott and Colin de Grandhomme at the crease, with neither settled yet.

    Gary Smee
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

Hello, the Eric Hollies stand has woken up.

An inflatable banana is being bounced around by some parrots and yep, there's the first beach ball.

Pace yourself ladies and gents - it's not even midday!

  15. wicket

WICKET Hain (lbw Meschede) 9published at 10.2 overs

    Birmingham Bears 93-4

We really have a contest on our hands now.

Sam Hain the latest to fall for the Bears - the highly impressive Craig Meschede trapping him lbw.

It looked plum, and the umpire barely hesitated.

  16. Birmingham Bears 92-3published at 10 overs

    Hain 9, Elliott 1

We've reached the midway point and, having looked on the ropes in the opening overs, Glamorgan seem on a more even keel now.

However the Bears will feel they can bide their time thanks to Ed Pollock's onslaught at the start.

  17. 'A big wicket'published at 11:39 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on Test Match Special on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

A really good catch out in the deep by Miller, running round to his right and he took a comfortable catch, sliding to his right and that is a big wicket for Glamorgan. Sibley almost got too much on it.

  18. wicket

WICKET Sibley (c Miller b Ingram) 27published at 9.2 overs

    Birmingham Bears 83-3

Leg-spinner Colin Ingram has his first wicket of the day.

He's better known for his batting, but Dominic Sibley falls victim - caught at wide mid on.

Bears skipper Grant Elliott comes to the crease.

  19. Birmingham Bears 83-2published at 9 overs

    Sibley 27, Hain 3

Since the powerplay, Glamorgan have started to take a semblance of control in this first innings.

Dominic Sibley finds the boundary with a measured effort along the ground, but that's about it.

The ground continues to fill - those who turned up late have missed an exhibition in hitting from Ed Pollock.
