  1. Birmingham Bears 74-2published at 8 overs

    Sibley 18, Hain 2

    Craig Meschede, take a bow.

Amidst all the boundaries from the Bears, he concedes just four runs and takes the wicket of Adam Hose in the eighth over.

Sam Hain is the new batsman for the hosts - who are still on top overall.

  2. Postpublished at 7.3 overs

    Birmingham Bears 72-2

The key moment of the match so far - Glamorgan finally ending Ed Pollock's disruptive innings.

No-one for Bears has really picked up the pace since he was dismissed...

  3. wicket

WICKET Hose (c Donald b Meschede) 1published at 7 overs

    Birmingham Bears 68-2

Adam Hose is in and out in double quick time.

He goes for a big shot but the ball is a slower one and it never had the power to reach the boundary.

Clever bowling from Craig Meschede and well-taken catch by Aneurin Donald.

What a start from Birmingham and that is solely down to Ed Pollock. He whacked it to all parts, an outstanding knock and just what Birmingham Bears needed. Brilliant.

  5. Birmingham Bears 65-1published at 6 overs

    Sibley 13, Hose 0

That's the powerplay done - the Bears will be chuffed with their efforts so far.

It has to be said Kiran Carlson took his catch very well to see the end of Ed Pollock.

  6. wicket

WICKET Pollock (c Carlson b de Lange) 50published at 5.5 overs

    Birmingham Bears 65-1

Ed Pollock has been stopped in his tracks, but 50 runs off 27 balls has caused enough difficulty for Glamorgan as it is.

How will the Bears react? Can they continue at the same rate?

  8. 50 runs

for Ed Pollockpublished at 5 overs

    Birmingham Bears 58-0

Well, I wasn't expecting our first half-century just five overs in - but Ed Pollock has smashed it.

He has his 50 runs from 23 balls, with five fours and two sixes.

Dominic Sibley has started playing some shots too, which is ominous for a shell-shocked looking Glamorgan side.

How good is this to watch? No nonsense batting from Pollock and Birmingham. It takes some character and confidence to do this first up and play such a positive attacking brand of cricket.

  10. Birmingham Bears 49-0published at 4 overs

    Pollock 47, Sibley 2

No six in this over, but this Ed Pollock innings has all the makings of something special.

Two fours take him to 47 off just 20 balls - Glamorgan manage three dot balls to calm the scoring down just a tad, but they really need to get Pollock out ASAP.

  12. Postpublished at 3.1 overs

    Birmingham Bears 41-0

This is the kind of big hitting I'm trying my best to describe from Ed Pollock.

He's giving the Glamorgan bowlers no respect whatsoever, and that's what ruthless T20 cricket is all about.

  13. 'Birmingham look a very rounded side'published at 11:11 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Charles Dagnall
BBC Test Match Special on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I like Birmingham today, it is their home ground, they have signed a couple of players that are very important in Dominic Sibley and Adam Hose and it has changed the dynamic of their side.

They were a little bit aged, but with Grant Elliott taking over from Ian Bell, they look a very rounded side and they have the best T20 bowler in the country in Jeetan Patel.

All four sides have claims, if Hampshire produce their best performance as they did in the quarter-finals it could be them. Notts are often the bridesmaids and Glamorgan are the underdogs.

  14. 6 runs

Birmingham Bears 40-0published at 3 overs

    Pollock 39, Sibley 1

A six every over - how long can we keep this up today?!

Once again it's Ed Pollock causing the damage - he's teeing off at free will and this time Marchant de Lange is the bowler taking the punishment.

Just the 15 runs off the third over - Dominic Sibley gets off the mark but it's Pollock getting all the boundaries... another six and four to add to his ever-growing tally.

  15. Ground slowly filling uppublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Gary Smee

I would say the ground is just over half full at the moment.

I just heard over a security guard's walkie-talkie that there are still big queues outside.

The main road into Birmingham being closed and extra security searches haven't helped - but we're getting there.

  16. 6 runs

Birmingham Bears 24-0published at 2 overs

    Pollock 24, Sibley 0

We're only two overs in, but are Glamorgan in trouble already?

Ed Pollock whacks Michael Hogan over the top - he doesn't catch it plum but it goes all the way.

He then hits another a long way up, but enough legs for the six.

Nerves? What nerves? His batting partner Dominic Sibley finally gets on strike for the 11th ball.

  17. 'Excellent'published at 11:04 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on Test Match Special on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

An excellent start for Birmingham Bears. Ed Pollock is renowned for being an excellent starter, that is why Glamorgan started with a spinner but 11 off the over.

  18. 6 runs

Birmingham Bears 11-0published at 1 over

    Pollock 11, Sibley 0

No time wasted to get the first maximum of T20 Finals Day, Ed Pollock thrashing Colin Ingram for six.

He added another boundary in the over, forcing Ingram to go over the wicket for his final ball.

    Great start for the Bears.
