That's all on day two of our eight County Championship matches.

Despite one or two slightly early finishes, we've enjoyed a good day, with Liam Livingstone undoubtedly the star performer, hitting a maiden double century for Lancashire.

Paul Collingwood, Jack Taylor and Riki Wessels also shone with the bat, while there was plenty of intrigue at Chelmsford and The Oval.

You can read all of our reports here. Have a nice evening and please join us again tomorrow for day three.

  3. Kent hang on at Canterburypublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Leicestershire 350 v Kent 313-9 (88 overs)

Kent enjoy the best of the final session at Canterbury to close just 37 in arrears after being in trouble on 193-6 against Leicestershire earlier in the day.

Skipper Sam Northeast will be disappointed to have got out for 97, but his was the main contribution for the home side, who have Imran Qayyum (22*) and Adam Milne (20*) not out overnight. Former Kent man Neil Dexter claimed 5-76 for the visitors.

  4. Pears on top at New Roadpublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Worcestershire 363 & 10-0 (5 overs) v Gloucestershire 258

Worcestershire openers Daryl Mitchell and Brett D'Oliveira see out the final five overs of play as they reach stumps with a 115-run lead over neighbours Gloucestershire at New Road.

Jack Taylor's unbeaten 101 off 143 balls was the feature of the Gloucestershire innings, but Ed Barnard claimed 4-23, well supported by Ravichandran Ashwin (3-94), to restrict them to two batting points.

  5. Close of play at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Notts 213 & 317-8 (64 overs) v Northants 141

The umpires have called it a day at Trent Bridge, where there was no play after tea. Riki Wessels will begin tomorrow 107 not out, with Notts 389 runs ahead.

  6. 'Taylor likes Worcestershire'published at 18:13 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Worcestershire 363 v Gloucestershire 258

    Bob Hunt
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Amongst the hurly burly of the test, a great stat from New Road .

Jack Taylor has just reached his fourth successive century in four successive innings against Worcestershire.

Add to that three more against them for the seconds and you get the feeling he likes playing his northern neighbours.

  7. WICKET Podmore (c Collingwood b Rushworth) 5published at 18:09 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Durham 480-9 dec v Derbyshire 164 (64.3 overs)

You can't keep Paul Collingwood out of this game, and following his 177 earlier in the day, he takes the catch to bring Derbyshire's first innings to an end. The visitors trail by 316 at the Riverside, and Collingwood's overnight decision about the declaration is surely a formality.

  8. Gloucestershire all out for 258published at 18:08 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Worcestershire 363 v Gloucestershire 258

Ravichandran Ashwin has dismissed Craig Miles and Ed Barnard did for Liam Norwell to wrap up Gloucestershire's innings at New Road.

Ashwin finishes his first Championship bowling spell with 3-94, while Barnard posts outstanding career-best figures of 4-23. Worcestershire have a lead of 105 runs.

  9. Livingstone's day to rememberpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Warwickshire 200 v Lancashire 484-6 (122 overs)

Umpires Russell Evans and David Millns decide no further play is possible at Old Trafford where Lancashire lead Warwickshire by 284 following a superlative double century by Liam Livingstone. His unbeaten 215 has come off 318 deliveries and included three sixes and 25 fours.

The numbers speak for themselves - and Lancashire scored 372 in the day, having resumed on 112-3.

  10. Middlesex openers survivepublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Middlesex 247 & 15-0 (6 overs) v Surrey 280

Nine overs still to go at The Oval as Middlesex's openers retreat to the dressing room after the umpires decide the light is no longer good enough for play to continue, and that'll be it for the day.

Sam Robson has nine and Nick Compton has six and the reigning champions have done well to haul themselves back into the game after Jason Roy (79) and Ben Foakes (73) appeared to be guiding Surrey towards a sizeable first-innings lead. Just 18 more needed by Middlesex to clear the deficit.

  11. Trent Bridge pitch inspection at 6.15pmpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Notts 213 & 317-8 (64 overs) v Northants 141

They will try one last time at Trent Bridge. The umpires will check the light and the pitch at 6.15pm in hope of getting out again.

  12. 100 runs

for Jack Taylorpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Worcestershire 363 v Gloucestershire 255-8 (74.3 overs)

Well batted Jack Taylor. That's a hugely important knock for Gloucestershire.

He's reached the landmark from 140 balls with 12 fours and has limited the first-innings deficit.

  13. Game in the balance at Colwyn Baypublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Glamorgan 294 & 126-6 (42 overs) v Sussex 268

Craig Meschede (19*) and Tom Cullen (11*) play out the final seven and a bit overs as Glamorgan end day two with a 152-run lead against Sussex, but with only four wickets standing.

These two produced a major partnership in the Welsh county's first innings and Sussex will want to knock them over early on the third morning to leave themselves a moderate run-chase. Ollie Robinson has taken 3-29 and has seven wickets in the match so far.

  14. wicket

WICKET Northeast (lbw Dexter) 97published at 17:52 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Leicestershire 350 v Kent 277-8 (75.5 overs)

Many names have been bandied about in connection with England and Sam Northeast is another of them, so he'll be very disappointed to miss out on a century at the St Lawrence Ground. Neil Dexter picks up his fourth victim of the innings for Leicestershire, with the home skipper departing after facing 170 balls and hitting 11 fours.

  15. Light halts play at Old Traffordpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Warwickshire 200 v Lancashire 484-6 (122 overs)

If Lancashire were contemplating a late declaration, the overhead conditions may have foiled them as the umpires take the players off with seven overs remaining. Liam Livingstone is 215 not out, with Ryan McLaren on 13, and the home side's lead is a commanding 284.

  16. Game off at Chelmsfordpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Essex 159 & 117-3 (52.3 overs) v Somerset 164

I'm afraid that there will be no more play at Chelmsford between Essex and Somerset as the umpires have called it a day.

Nick Browne (66 not out) and Adam Wheater (36 not out) will begin batting again tomorrow morning with a lead of 112 runs.

  17. Crane's 'superb' catch dismisses Chasepublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

Substitute fielder Mason Crane's fantastic catch dismisses West Indies' Roston Chase on the final day of the second Test.

  18. Onions bags his 600th wicketpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Durham 480-9d v Derbyshire 146-9 (59 overs)

Graham Onions (4-42) has reached a significant landmark, dismissing Hardus Viljoen to reach 600 first-class wickets in his career.

Durham are all over Derbyshire at the Riverside, too. The visitors are 334 runs behind with just Imran Tahir and Harry Podmore left at the crease.

  19. wicket

WICKET Buttler (c Sibley b Umeed) 49published at 17:38 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Warwickshire 200 v Lancashire 460-6 (117 overs)

No half-century for Jos Buttler, who holes out in the deep off Andy Umeed. Lancashire won't worry about that, though. They're 260 to the good as Ryan McLaren joins Liam Livingstone.

  20. 200 runs

    Warwickshire 200 v Lancashire 454-5 (116.1 overs)

He brought up his 100 with a six, but Liam Livingstone is content with a single off Andy Umeed as he doubles it from 302 deliveries faced.

The fact that he has single-handedly matched Warwickshire's first-innings total underlines the quality of his innings - and his partnership with Jos Buttler, who is on 48 not out, is now worth 78. Will Lancashire consider a declaration before the close?
