That's all on day two of our eight County Championship matches.

Despite one or two slightly early finishes, we've enjoyed a good day, with Liam Livingstone undoubtedly the star performer, hitting a maiden double century for Lancashire.

Paul Collingwood, Jack Taylor and Riki Wessels also shone with the bat, while there was plenty of intrigue at Chelmsford and The Oval.

Kent enjoy the best of the final session at Canterbury to close just 37 in arrears after being in trouble on 193-6 against Leicestershire earlier in the day.

Skipper Sam Northeast will be disappointed to have got out for 97, but his was the main contribution for the home side, who have Imran Qayyum (22*) and Adam Milne (20*) not out overnight. Former Kent man Neil Dexter claimed 5-76 for the visitors.

Worcestershire openers Daryl Mitchell and Brett D'Oliveira see out the final five overs of play as they reach stumps with a 115-run lead over neighbours Gloucestershire at New Road.

Jack Taylor's unbeaten 101 off 143 balls was the feature of the Gloucestershire innings, but Ed Barnard claimed 4-23, well supported by Ravichandran Ashwin (3-94), to restrict them to two batting points.

The umpires have called it a day at Trent Bridge, where there was no play after tea. Riki Wessels will begin tomorrow 107 not out, with Notts 389 runs ahead.

Amongst the hurly burly of the test, a great stat from New Road .

Jack Taylor has just reached his fourth successive century in four successive innings against Worcestershire.

Add to that three more against them for the seconds and you get the feeling he likes playing his northern neighbours.

You can't keep Paul Collingwood out of this game, and following his 177 earlier in the day, he takes the catch to bring Derbyshire's first innings to an end. The visitors trail by 316 at the Riverside, and Collingwood's overnight decision about the declaration is surely a formality.

Ravichandran Ashwin has dismissed Craig Miles and Ed Barnard did for Liam Norwell to wrap up Gloucestershire's innings at New Road.

Ashwin finishes his first Championship bowling spell with 3-94, while Barnard posts outstanding career-best figures of 4-23. Worcestershire have a lead of 105 runs.

Umpires Russell Evans and David Millns decide no further play is possible at Old Trafford where Lancashire lead Warwickshire by 284 following a superlative double century by Liam Livingstone. His unbeaten 215 has come off 318 deliveries and included three sixes and 25 fours.

The numbers speak for themselves - and Lancashire scored 372 in the day, having resumed on 112-3.

Nine overs still to go at The Oval as Middlesex's openers retreat to the dressing room after the umpires decide the light is no longer good enough for play to continue, and that'll be it for the day.

Sam Robson has nine and Nick Compton has six and the reigning champions have done well to haul themselves back into the game after Jason Roy (79) and Ben Foakes (73) appeared to be guiding Surrey towards a sizeable first-innings lead. Just 18 more needed by Middlesex to clear the deficit.

They will try one last time at Trent Bridge. The umpires will check the light and the pitch at 6.15pm in hope of getting out again.

Worcestershire 363 v Gloucestershire 255-8 (74.3 overs)

Well batted Jack Taylor. That's a hugely important knock for Gloucestershire.

He's reached the landmark from 140 balls with 12 fours and has limited the first-innings deficit.

Craig Meschede (19*) and Tom Cullen (11*) play out the final seven and a bit overs as Glamorgan end day two with a 152-run lead against Sussex, but with only four wickets standing.

These two produced a major partnership in the Welsh county's first innings and Sussex will want to knock them over early on the third morning to leave themselves a moderate run-chase. Ollie Robinson has taken 3-29 and has seven wickets in the match so far.

If Lancashire were contemplating a late declaration, the overhead conditions may have foiled them as the umpires take the players off with seven overs remaining. Liam Livingstone is 215 not out, with Ryan McLaren on 13, and the home side's lead is a commanding 284.

I'm afraid that there will be no more play at Chelmsford between Essex and Somerset as the umpires have called it a day.

Nick Browne (66 not out) and Adam Wheater (36 not out) will begin batting again tomorrow morning with a lead of 112 runs.

Substitute fielder Mason Crane's fantastic catch dismisses West Indies' Roston Chase on the final day of the second Test.

Graham Onions (4-42) has reached a significant landmark, dismissing Hardus Viljoen to reach 600 first-class wickets in his career.

Durham are all over Derbyshire at the Riverside, too. The visitors are 334 runs behind with just Imran Tahir and Harry Podmore left at the crease.
