    Durham 403-7 (104 overs) v Derbyshire

Durham went past 400 with seven overs to spare against Derbyshire, so all five batting points are in the bag. Paul Collingwood is now 141 not out and has added 56 so far with 18-year-old Matty Potts (18*), who is 23 years his junior.

    Essex 159 v Somerset 133-8 (48.1 overs)

Five wickets for Jamie Porter, but it's taken some fantastic wicket-keeping from James Foster, who bails out Simon Harmer at slip.

Steven Davies wafts at one outside offstump and sends a regulation catch to second slip, where Harmer makes a mess of it, only for Foster to clutch the rebound.

    Leicestershire 350-9 (101.4 overs) v Kent

Darren Stevens has Callum Parkinson caught by Matt Coles and so ends a 122-run last-wicket partnership.

The Foxes banked a fourth batting point, and having been 174-8 it's quite something. Stevens finishes with career-best figures of 8-75 from 25.4 overs. Take a bow.

Mohammad Amir has returned to the field and is fit and firing again. The video above shows the double-wicket maiden he started with this morning... Tricky to say the least.

  6. Home sweet home for Collypublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Durham 385-7 (99 overs) v Derbyshire

An early boundary for Paul Collingwood and he has moved on to 135 not out - the highest score of his career at the Riverside. Another 15 needed from 11 overs for Durham to earn maximum batting points. If he stays in, that'll be a doddle.

  7. wicket

WICKET Libby (c Kleinveldt b Azharullah) 2published at 11:11 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Notts 213 & 26-1 (7.1 overs) v Northants 141

Here we go again. Yet another wicket at Trent Bridge, as Jake Libby becomes Mohammad Azharullah's sixth victim of the match, with Rory Kleinveldt taking the catch.

This game is not going to last four days, is it?

  8. Foxes' last-wicket stand passes 100published at 11:10 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Leicestershire 338-9 (98 overs) v Kent

Kent started this morning hoping to end Leicestershire's remarkable last-wicket stand between Lewis Hill and Callum Parkinson, but they've continued where they've left off so far.

Hill is 79 not out, while Parkinson has 69. Their stand is worth 110 at the moment.

  9. Robson goes earlypublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Glamorgan 294 v Sussex 85-4 (19 overs)

The first action of note in Division Two sees Sussex's Angus Robson bowled for 44 by Ruaidhri Smith, offering no stroke. Good start for Glamorgan.

    Essex 159 v Somerset 118-7 (44 overs)

Make that two wickets! Mohammad Amir strikes again, with an inswinging yorker smashing Craig Overton's stumps to smithereens.

The Pakistan fast bowler has injured himself in the excitement though and is leaving the field at Chelmsford with what looks like a back problem.

Day two of this round of the County Championship is off, with seven of our eight games starting on time, as Worcestershire v Gloucestershire is delayed by drizzle at New Road.

As ever, your best bet of keeping across the action is with the BBC's commentary teams and our live text. We'll bring every wicket from Division One and at Trent Bridge between Nottinghamshire and Northants, as well as updates from the other Division Two matches.

Let us see what today brings.

  13. Essex 'not panicked' by low totalpublished at 10:56 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Essex 159 v Somerset 118-5 - match resumes 11:00 BST

    Jamie PorterImage source, Rex Features

Essex pace bowler Jamie Porter showed why he is arguably this summer's most improved bowler with four wickets to haul the title favourites back into the game after a poor batting effort against Somerset.

The 24-year-old now has 44 first-class wickets this season and could be an outside bet for a place in England's Ashes tour party.

"If we can bowl them out for somewhere near where we finished up then we are massively in this game. It's weird - I don't think any of us really felt panicked.

"I know it is a below-par score, but we are a good enough side that, if we do fall behind, we can easily get back into it," he said.

Lancashire will be intent on building a big first-innings lead after pace bowler Kyle Jarvis found the range after a change of ends on day one against Warwickshire at Old Trafford.

Jarvis took 6-67 as the visitors were bowled out for 200 and told BBC Radio Manchester: "I bowled terribly and had no rhythm from the James Anderson End, which is where I normally bowl from.

"I decided to switch it around. It then came out really nicely. That's just the way it goes."

Warwickshire coach Jim Troughton defended their decision to bat first, but told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "They bowled well and in good areas, but we didn't have that skill to stem the bleeding."

We're contemplating a new, regular feature for these text commentaries called 'Martin's shirts' because BBC Newcastle's voice of cricket does seem to own quite a few. Here is the man himself with his video preview of Durham v Derbyshire. Not sure the yellow 'pitch access' lanyard goes all that well with today's choice.

  18. Ripley blames 'indifferent batting'published at 10:42 British Summer Time 29 August 2017

    Notts 213 & 19-0 v Northants 141 - match resumes at 11:00 BST

    David RipleyImage source, Getty

Northamptonshire head coach David Ripley refused to blame the pitch after 20 wickets fell on the opening day of their game against Division Two leaders Nottinghamshire.

Having dismissed the home side for 213, Ripley's side squandered their advantage by being bowled out for just 141 in their own first innings.

“When we were looking at the wicket I wouldn’t have envisaged that that would be the outcome of the day," said Ripley.

“There was some good seam bowling and some indifferent batting, so the game has rolled on quickly."

Durham 376-7 v Derbyshire - match resumes at 11:00 BST

    Paul CollingwoodImage source, Getty Images

Paul Collingwood had good news for Durham supporters after scoring his 25th first-class century for the county on day one against Derbyshire.

The former England all-rounder, who will resume on 127 not out, is still going strong like fellow 41-year-olds, Marcus Trescothick (Somerset) and Darren Stevens (Kent) and expects to play on for the club next summer.

"I haven't signed anything yet, but I think it would be silly to give up the game when, well I'm not clinging on, put it that way," he told BBC Newcastle.

"I'm still enjoying it, enjoying contributing, and I think it would be silly if I didn't have another season."
