  1. 150 runs

150 up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Surrey 592 v Yorkshire 153-0 (44 overs)

Runs keep on flowing at The Oval as the bowlers are forced to toil a bit more towards the end of the second day.

Yorkshire's opening pair of Tom Kohler-Cadmore (71 not out) and Shaun Marsh (74 not out) have put on more than 150 for the opening wicket.

  2. Lancashire begin second inningspublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 133 & 0-0 f/o (0 overs) v Somerset 335

Out stride Alex Davies and Haseeb Hammed for the second time today at Taunton. That's not a sentence any opening pair wants to hear.

Six batsmen made single figure scores in Lancashire's first innings.

Can they do better second time around?

  3. Essex closing on titlepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 351-7 (105 overs) v Warwickshire

    What a way to start.

Neil Wagner whacks his first ball from Chris Woakes to the fence for four.

That takes Essex beyond 350, clinching another batting bonus point and taking the lead over 150.

But things are simple now. If Essex win and Lancashire lose, Essex will win their first County Championship title since 1992.

  4. Lancashire following onpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 133 all out (57.3 overs) v Somerset 335

    Somerset enforce the follow on!

This is going to be a horrible evening session for the Lancashire batsmen who have already been knocked over once today.

  5. wicket

WICKET Harmer (lbw b Woakes) 24published at 17:14 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 347-7 (103.1 overs) v Warwickshire

    Plumb.

Good stuff from Chris Woakes as he breaks this frustrating partnership by dismissing Simon Harmer. The ball would have hit middle stump three quarters of the way up.

Essex's lead is still 146. They've got plenty.

  6. wicket

    All over.

Jack Leach takes his fifth wicket as Lancashire fall in a heap, all out 202 runs in arrears.

Crucially no batting bonus points for Lancashire.

Will Somerset enforce the follow on?

  7. Viljoen takes record haulpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

Sussex 271 all out (63.5 overs) v Derbyshire

Well bowled Hardus Viljoen. The South African has taken 7-80, his best figures for Derbyshire, to bowl Sussex out for 271 at Hove.

That gives the visitors a very useful first innings lead of 67.

Luke Wright was left stranded on 70 not out for the hosts.

  8. Bancroft shines in the September sunshinepublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Gloucestershire 385 v Kent 0-0 (1 over)

Cameron Bancroft, with a masterful 206 not out, carried his bat in Gloucestershire total of 385.

In his last game of the season for the home side, he and Matthew Taylor broke the record for the 10th wicket against Kent with a 111 partnership.

Taylor was out for a career best 36, leaving Bancroft stranded six runs short of his highest first class score; 211 for Western Australia.

  9. Gloucestershire finally all outpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Gloucestershire 385 (131.5 overs) v Kent

Gloucestershire's valiant last-wicket stand is finally ended by Kent's frustrated bowlers at Bristol.

Cameron Bancroft finishes unbeaten on 206, which is five runs shy of his first-class career best.

Matthew Taylor the last man to fall for the hosts with a career-best 36 in a partnership worth 111 runs.

    Essex 342-6 (99 overs) v Warwickshire

I doubt James Foster knows about Lancashire's troubles in the middle but he is doing a perfect job for Essex.

He brings up his half-century from just 68 balls with his 10th four. It's the second time he's reached 50 this season and he turned the other into a ton.

    Essex's lead is now 142.

Another half-century brought up at The Oval and Shaun Marsh has one for Yorkshire as their impressive reply continues against Surrey.

It's a maiden half-century in Yorkshire colours for the Australia international in his last match before he returns down under.

The people who run the Essex Twitter account know the significance of this flurry of wickets at Taunton.

A first title since 1992 is heading to Essex on Friday you'd think.

    Another one bites the dust...

Jack Leach takes his fourth in classic left-arm off-spinner fashion. It pitches around off-stump, spins away and finds a faint edge.

Somerset may well have a decision to make regarding the follow-on.

Who expected that at the start of the match?

There's no stopping Somerset at the moment!

Lancashire lose their eighth wicket and fifth of the session as Dominic Bess deceives Tom Bailey and has him stumped.

Lancashire still trail by 224 with two wickets left.

  15. 200 runs

200 for Cameron Bancroftpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Gloucestershire 379-9 (129 overs) v Kent

Memorable moment for Cameron Bancroft at Bristol.

The Gloucestershire opener has a double century against Kent as he nudges his last-wicket partnership with Matthew Taylor past 100.

It's Bancroft's second double ton of his first-class career and he'll now be eyeing up his career best score of 211.

Alastair Cook has turned up at Edgbaston to watch his Essex team-mates.

Is it cynical to suggest he's turned up to do 'a John Terry' with the hopes of a title win this week increasing fast?

Foster is thumping the ball to all parts of the ground as this game is being taken well and truly away from Warwickshire. They're going to be playing in Division Two next season.

Lancashire's slim title hopes are fading fast.

Jack Leach has a third wicket of the innings.

Stephen Parry goes back when he should be forward and his stumps are disturbed by the spinner.

  19. Essex lead still growingpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 316-6 (92 overs) v Warwickshire

Two more boundaries to James Foster as Ryan Sidebottom returns to the attack for Warwickshire.

Essex could be eyeing a lead big enough to give them an innings victory here.

Foster has 35. The lead is 115. There are still 27 overs remaining in this day. The sun is out. Could be a long one.

Runs continue to flow at The Oval and Tom Kohler-Cadmore has a maiden County Championship 50 for Yorkshire with a drive for four through the covers off Gareth Batty.

He's struck nine fours in the process of getting there.

He then ticks another single down the ground to bring up a century opening stand with Shaun Marsh (41 not out).
