    Essex 303-6 (89.1 overs) v Warwickshire

And a third batting bonus point for Essex is calmly collected. That's their sixth of the match including the three bowling points.

Foster (26 not out) and Harmer (13 not out) are doing a good job of adding to the total here and the South African hits a four to move the total beyond 300.

This partnership is now worth 32.

Second-placed Lancashire are still 236 runs behind Somerset.

Stephen Parry is the new man.

    Gloucestershire 355-9 (126 overs) v Kent

Meanwhile, in Division Two, Gloucestershire are frustrating visitors Kent with a very size-able last-wicket stand at a delayed tea interval.

Opener Cameron Bancroft (187 not out) has a strong chance of carrying his bat through this first innings.

Last man Matthew Taylor (27 not out) has stuck around with him to add 81 so far for the 10th wicket.

There is still plenty of cricket to be played of course but if Somerset keep taking Lancashire wickets and Essex keep on top against Warwickshire then the title will be wrapped up this week.

James Foster (17 not out) adds four more to Essex's lead as he punishes a poor delivery from Keith Barker.

    That lead is now 84.

Now Steven Croft is heading back to the pavilion!

It's a great length from Craig Overton which forces the Lancashire captain to come forward and finds the edge.

Croft had looked good for Lancashire but they're five down, 249 runs in arrears.

Jack Leach just keeps on taking wickets.

Lancashire are in big trouble as they lose Shivnarine Chanderpaul, caught at short leg off the spinner.

Marcus Trescothick takes the catch under the helmet. A 43-year-old batsman caught by a 41-year-old fielder.

An aggressive century from Richard Levi has been the key for Northants as they moved into a dominant position, already 41 runs ahead of Glamorgan.

Levi smashed 101 off 97 balls before edging Lukas Carey to keeper Chris Cooke, while Rob Newton has been today's only other wicket to fall, leg-before to Michael Hogan for a more composed 67.

Rob Keogh, who was caught off a full-toss no-ball from Andrew Salter on 9, has reached 45 at the interval.

But the promotion-hunting visitors have not been put under consistent pressure by Glamorgan's bowlers.

A good recovery from Sussex who lost three quick wickets after lunch all to poor shots to leave them precariously placed on 149-7.

But a partnership of 80 between Luke Wright and David Wiese rescued Sussex before Wiese was caught behind giving 16 year old Hamidullah Qadri his first wicket of the match.

Wright has shown great restraint curbing his attacking instincts to reach 59 off 110 balls and at tea Sussex trail by 82.

WICKET Bopara (lbw b Barker) 20published at 15:44 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 271-6 (81.3 overs) v Warwickshire

Warwickshire take the new ball after tea and it pays off as they dismiss Ravi Bopara on the third ball of the session.

Keith Barker is the bowler as Bopara gets a long way across the stumps and is hit on the thigh pad.

Bopara isn't impressed with the decision and the replay shows the ball would have gone over the top of the stumps.

  13. Lancashire in need of runspublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 70-3 (32 overs) v Somerset 335

This Somerset-Lancashire match is huge at both ends of the Division One table.

A Lancashire win would keep the pressure on Essex, and prevent them winning the title this week, although that looks unlikely in their current position.

Somerset are second bottom but could climb out of the relegation places above Middlesex or Yorkshire with a win.

Croft starts positively after the break by hitting the second ball for four off Craig Overton. He's now on 32.

Steven Croft and Shiv Chanderpaul are heading out with bat in hand.

No sooner have they got back out there, then Worcestershire lose a second wicket in their first innings.

Tom Fell is beaten all ends up by Leicestershire spinner Callum Parkinson without scoring.

    Essex 271-5 (81 overs) v Warwickshire

The afternoon session at Edgbaston ends with a tight over from Jeetan Patel.

Three Essex wickets fell in that session but they've batted into a lead of 70 in this match.

Ravi Bopara (20 not out) and James Foster (9 not out) are the batsmen at the crease and the league leaders will still be looking for plenty more after tea.

It's his first of the season and the third first-class ton of his career.
