And now official confirmation from the umpires at Taunton.
The match will restart at 15:20 BST. Tea has already been taken and there are a minimum of 43 remaining in the day.
That's a long evening session...
Lancashire 61-3 (30 overs) v Somerset 335
The umpires are currently carrying out a pitch inspection at Taunton after a lengthy stoppage for rain.
As the tweet below shows there are blue skies. The Lancashire innings may well resume shortly.

Essex 269-5 (77.1 overs) v Warwickshire
Poor bowling from Warwickshire at the start of James Foster's innings.
One on the Essex wicketkeeper-batsman's pads and one wide of off stump and both are hit to the boundary.
Now is that a drop? Ravi Bopara flat-bats Sidebottom down the ground and he just can't get his hands to the ball in his follow-through.
Essex 256-5 (75.2 overs) v Warwickshire
Maybe this one won't be as comfortable for Essex as it seemed half an hour ago.
The Warwickshire bowlers have found a bit of nip and Australian Ryan Sidebottom bowls Essex captain Ryan ten Doeschate off his inside edge.
Ten Doeschate was just trying to run the ball down to third man with an angled bat, but the hosts are sneaking back into this a little. The Essex lead is 55.
Essex 252-4 (73.5 overs) v Warwickshire
Dan Lawrence had hardly offered a chance in this innings and falls cutting a short and wide delivery from Ryan Sidebottom to Ian Bell in the gully.
Lawrence can't quite believe he did that. He could have hit it anywhere.
Bell puts his fingers around his eyes as if to make a pair of glasses. Not sure what that was about.
Essex 252-3 (73 overs) v Warwickshire
Dan Lawrence brings up the second batting bonus point for Essex with a tidy push.
They need to get to 400 before the 110th over to take maximum batting bonus points of five.
Surrey 592 v Yorkshire 54-0 (11 overs)
Tom Kohler-Cadmore (28 not out) and Shaun Marsh (23 not out) have made a steady start for Yorkshire at The Oval.
Some nice strokes either side of the wicket from both batsmen as they look to pick up some bonus points.
Leicestershire 404 v Worcestershire 119-1 (26 overs)
Division Two promotion chasers Worcestershire lose their run-scoring talisman Daryl Mitchell up at New Road.
Mitchell, who went past 1,000 Championship runs for the season last week, is dismissed for a very useful 58 in a productive opening stand with Brett D'Oliveira (59 not out).
Shortly after, rain arrives in the West Midlands to take the players off the field.
Essex 246-3 (70 overs) v Warwickshire
Hello!
After a quiet spell Dan Lawrence (73 not out) takes a step down the track and heaves Keith Barker over the leg side for a one-bounce four.
Batting has been much easier today than yesterday but Lawrence has been very good.
Middlesex 76-3 (30.1 overs) v Hampshire
Oh dear!
Not good news I'm afraid from Uxbridge where play has been abandoned for the day after that heavy shower during lunch.
Essex 242-3 (68 overs) v Warwickshire
Ravi Bopara had looked pretty comfortable since coming to the crease after the dismissal of Varun Chopra but Keith Barker is starting to cause a few problems.
The left-arm Warwickshire bowler is aiming for the pads from over the wicket and has an appeal turned down.
Bopara looks uncertain for the rest of the over but survives to move into double figures (10 not out).
Lancashire 61-3 (30 overs) v Somerset 335
Bad news from Taunton.
Just as that 14:15 BST inspection was about to take place, another shower came in meaning we're in for a further delay.
Sussex 172-7 (36 overs) v Derbyshire 338
In Division Two, Hardus Viljoen has his fifth wicket of the innings for Derbyshire against Sussex with the dismissal of Jofra Archer.
That has Derbyshire in control of the match with Sussex struggling on 172-7 in response to their 338.
Elsewhere, Worcestershire have made a very good start in reply to Leicestershire 404. They've reached 92-0 with Daryl Mitchell (53 not out) passing 50.
Kent are slowly making their way through the Gloucestershire batting line-up with the hosts on 278-9. Cameron Bancroft (137 not out) may well carry his bat.
It took a while but Glamorgan have finally broken Northamptonshire's third wicket partnership between Richard Levi and Robert Newton with the latter out for 67. Northants trail Glamorgan by 42 runs with 7 wickets remaining.
Middlesex 76-3 (30.1 overs) v Hampshire
It's stopped raining in north west London, but no immediate sign of a restart after quite a dumping of water in a short space of time...

Essex 220-3 (64.5 overs) v Warwickshire
Heartbreak for Varun Chopra!
He falls two short of a fine century as part-timer Matt Lamb traps him in front.
The impact was close to being outside the line of off stump but, after having a good think about it, the umpire raised the finger.

Hmm, how long is the start of this Yorkshire innings going to last?
James has sent us this rather daunting looking picture from The Oval...

Surrey 592 v Yorkshire 4-0 (1 over)
Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Shaun Marsh open up for Yorkshire at The Oval.
Sam Curran and Rikki Clarke with the new ball for Surrey as the hosts go searching for an early breakthrough as Yorkshire face the daunting prospect of needing 443 to avoid the follow-on.

Mickey Wallis: Am I the only one who thinks Sam Northeast should be going? Way better technically than Westley and has experience down under.
Sidney Applebaum: would like to see Northeast get a chance, his century against Durham's attack last week was brilliant
You're not alone Mickey but the fact his runs are Division Two runs will count against him.
Essex 206-2 (60.4 overs) v Warwickshire 201
A ninth first-class half-century for the very impressive Dan Lawrence.
It comes from just 91 deliveries.
This lad has a big future ahead of him.
