    Middlesex 62-3 (23.2 overs) v Hampshire

A heavy shower arrives across the ground at Uxbridge to bring play to a halt.

They may take an early lunch as well after Hampshire's decent spell with the ball so far.

  3. wicket

WICKET Livingstone (c Overton b Leach) 21published at 12:10 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 39-3 (22.5 overs) v Somerset 335

    Big problems for Lancashire...

Jack Leach has his 150th first-class wicket as he dismisses Liam Livingstone.

The Lancashire number three came down the pitch to the left-arm spinner but edged the ball to first slip.

A lovely four down the ground from Ben Foakes off Jack Brooks brings up his well-compiled century for Surrey.

A timely innings for the wicketkeeper who's being tipped for inclusion in England's Ashes squad.

  5. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi (c Alsop b Edwards) 13published at 12:06 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

Turning into a good morning for Hampshire at Uxbridge.

Fidel Edwards grabs a second for himself and a third for Hampshire to pick up the first bowling point.

Stevie Eskinazi is well caught in the slips by Tom Alsop to fall for 13.

Nick Ellis: Not sure Hameed is right for Eng with Cook. Two slow scorers will just pile pressure on 3-6 if either fail. Too tortoise like.

  7. wicket

WICKET Robson (c Adams b Holland) 28published at 12:01 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Middlesex 58-2 (20.5 overs) v Hampshire

    A big wicket for Hampshire.

Middlesex opener Sam Robson is out, edging into the slips off Ian Holland.

It's a great second slip catch from Jimmy Adams. Adam Voges is the new man.

  8. wicket

WICKET Hameed (c Bartlett b Trego) 4published at 11:56 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 22-2 (19.3 overs) v Somerset 335

Haseeb Hameed had battled and battled but in the end is out top-edging a pull off Peter Trego.

Not a good way to fall for four from 56 balls.

Somerset are delighted. They are right in with a chance in this game.

  9. wicket

WICKET Sangakkara (c sub b Brooks) 164published at 11:55 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Surrey 513-5 (117 overs) v Yorkshire

All good things have to come to an end and sadly, this latest masterclass from Kumar Sangakkara has done so.

The Sri Lankan is caught in the deep at fine leg by substitute fielder Ben Coad off the bowling of Jack Brooks.

He struck 21 fours and three sixes in that 187-ball knock.

The long wait to get out there clearly did Ollie Pope no favours as he is caught first ball at second slip by Jack Leaning to give Brooks two in two balls.

  10. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 146-2 (44.1 over) v Warwickshire 201

    Frustration for Essex.

Just as Dan Lawrence (10 not out) starts to get into some rhythm the rain comes at Edgbaston and the players are hauled off.

Varun Chopra (79 not out) has been supreme.

Division One leaders Essex trail Warwickshire by just 55 runs.

Kumar Sangakkara crashes a 19th four of his innings to bring up his 150.

He's got there in 180 balls and has also crashed three sixes as Surrey push towards 500.

    Lancashire 21-1 (16 overs) v Somerset 335

Hameed doesn't look the slightest bit bothered as he tucks the ball into the leg side for his first run since the fourth ball of the second over...

  13. Livingstone on the attackpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 20-1 (15 overs) v Somerset 335

34 balls without a run for now Haseeb Hameed (3 not out).

Jack Leach is into the attack with his left-arm spin at Taunton but Liam Livingstone comes down the pitch and lofts him over mid on for four.

Leg spinner Matt Parkinson was brilliant with four wickets yesterday. What impact will Somerset's spinner have?

  14. wicket

WICKET Compton (b Edwards) 16published at 11:41 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Middlesex 40-1 (17.5 overs) v Hampshire

First wicket of the day falls at a blustery Uxbridge where no play was possible due to a wet outfield yesterday.

Nick Compton is done by a late inswinger from Fidel Edwards and Hampshire get their deserved breakthrough for their toil with the new ball.

So Woakes wins the battle of the England men at Edgbaston.

Woakes needs overs under his belt to guarantee his starting spot in the Ashes line-up and now has his first wicket of the innings.

The replays show that was a pretty poor shot from Westley - a waft outside off stump when there was little need to play.

Are either of those two in your line-up for the first Ashes Test in Brisbane?

    Let us know at #bbccricket...

  16. wicket

WICKET Westley (c Mellor b Woakes) 28published at 11:31 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 128-2 (35.1 over) v Warwickshire 201

    Tom Westley gone!

It's the first ball of Chris Woakes' new spell and a good delivery with a bit of nip outside off stump that finds his England teammates' edge.

There'll be no big score for Westley today.

  17. Slow start for Lancashirepublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Lancashire 11-1 (12 overs) v Somerset 335

It's the complete opposite situation at Taunton.

Just the one run had come in the previous six overs until Liam Livingstone hit Groenewald to the fence in the most recent over.

The run-rate is still below one an over and Haseeb Hameed's strike rate is just 10.34. There's nothing wrong with that though. He's a proper opener.

Kumar Sangakkara and Ben Foakes continue to pile on the runs at The Oval against Yorkshire.

Wicketkeeper Foakes (90 not out) is moving towards a century while Sangakkara (128 not out) continues on his merry way with his first maximums of the innings in quick succession.

Tim Bresnan is emphatically dispatched into the stands for the second one.

  19. 50 partnership for Chopra and Westleypublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Essex 128-1 (34 overs) v Warwickshire 201

The runs are indeed flowing for Essex. Two more boundaries for Chopra.

The first of those brought up the 50 partnership between the opener and Tom Westley (27 not out). The stand has come from just 62 balls.

Warwickshire skipper Jonathan Trott has had enough. The seamers are off. On comes Jeetan Patel.

  20. Chappell denied 50published at 11:24 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Leicestershire 360-9 v Worcestershire

I put the mockers on Zak Chappell there as he falls without adding any more to his 48.

Tom Fell takes the catch at short leg off Patrick Brown's bowling as Worcestershire get their third bowling bonus point just before the 110-over cut off.

Leicestershire meanwhile have claimed a fourth batting point.
