  • England complete series win

  • Finch 62, Stoinis 56, Marsh 55

  • England lead 3-0 in five-match series

  1. Aus 70-2published at 14 overs

    Finch 32, Smith 7

Finch bends down to sweep Root away - Bairstow sprints after it and does remarkably well to pull the ball back inside the rope and save the boundary.

Another good over from Root, perhaps helping to ease Morgan's worries at losing Plunkett.

Nathan Forde: Is it me or was there more press coverage when the Test team were being battered than with the ODI team doing so well?

  3. Aus 65-2published at 13 overs

Better control from Moeen in his second over, allowing just four singles from it.

  4. Aus 61-2published at 12 overs

    Need 242 more to win

Tidy stuff from Root, conceding just two singles off his four balls to finish off Plunkett's over.

Plunkett going off is a huge blow for England. They have only got three frontline seamers - Jason Roy can bowl a little bit of naughty medium-pace but luckily they've got Joe Root who bowls more than handy off-spin.

Joe Root will complete Plunkett's over. The part-time off-spinner could well be used as a frontline bowler now...

  7. Aus 59-2published at 11.2 overs

Liam Plunkett has just pulled up as he went to run in. He looks to be in trouble.

He's signalled to the dressing room and is walking off the pitch. That's a huge loss for England if Plunkett is unable to bowl again in this match.

Australia find themselves in a tricky situation. England are bowling nicely and it's really important for them to squeeze.

Three singles off Moeen's first over to go with that mighty Finch blow.

  10. 6 runs

    Aus 57-2published at 10.4 overs

Aaron Finch is in rare form. After a brief look at Moeen, he clatters the fourth ball over mid-wicket into the stands.

Steve Smith said at the toss he thought it would skid on, but Sydney pitches do seem to wear and take spin, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a little bit there for Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid.

  13. Aus 49-2published at 10 overs

Finch flays at a couple of wide ones but can only pick up two singles from them, also clipping off his pads for two.

That's the end of the first powerplay - England were 47-2 at the same point of their innings.

Australia captain Steve Smith is the new man in. He hasn't been able to replicate his Test form in this series so far - will his move down to four spark something?

Smith is content to play out the final three balls of an excellent over from Wood.

Little bit of bounce and good pace from Mark Wood. White was trying to force it aggressively, it probably wasn't there and that bit of bounce probably was his undoing.

    White c Buttler b Wood 17 (Aus 44-2)

Got him! White had indeed been happy to try and hit anything with any hint of width but it proves his undoing here.

A short, quick ball from Wood that rises and rushes White, who tries to play a cross-bat cut and edges it through to Buttler behind.

It was wide of off stump but not nearly wide enough to be playing that shot. Good lift from Wood.

Cannot believe there is no Glenn Maxwell in the Aussie team - he is a far more dangerous batsman than White. Big innings due from Mitchell Marsh.

  20. Aus 43-1published at 8 overs

Woakes offers a little bit of width and White smacks it over extra cover to the fence. He's been happy to clatter anything wide so far.

A single apiece for White and Finch follows before Woakes squares White up off the last.
