And that brings to an end our coverage of this one-day series.

If we didn't know it already, this England white ball team is something special.

The tour is not over though. We'll be back for coverage of the T20 tri-series against the Aussies and New Zealand.

    Until then. Goodbye.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "The win is really special. I thought we played particularly poorly for a lot of the game. When we got on top we did our best to make inroads.

"After the Adelaide game we always thought if we tried get opportunities in the middle we could fight to end. That is a huge positive for us. It is not something we have shown in the past. That fight has been there throughout the series.

"To see Tom Curran come in bowl spell like that is a great sign.

"We are spoiled for choices. The guys are fighting for positions and you'd be a fool to give up your place and everyone knows that."

Australia captain Steve Smith: "We thought we pulled it back well to restrict them to 259. We thought 260 was very chaseable but again we lost wickets in clumps. You can't do that against a quality England line-up. The batting again has not been good enough. These collapses are happening too often and we have to sort out our one-day cricket."

The most impressive way is how they find a way to win - it's not always pretty. Look at Tom Curran here, David Willey here, Joe Root bowling eight overs when Liam Plunkett went down injured, Jos Butler soaking up the pressure rather than playing his shots etc. England have shown fight.

Man of the series Joe Root: "Anyone who was involved in the Test series has thoroughly enjoyed these one-day games. To come back has showed the character in the group and the talent.

"We have been together as a group for a while and we know our roles in the side. That has been really good for continuity and from that we get consistency.

"We knew it was really important to keep trying to take wickets and we weren't at our best especially in the field but we have somehow managed to find a win."

Joe Root is the slightly surprising winner of the man of the series award.

Tom Curran is not the quickest but he makes the most of what he's got. The fact he's getting so many wickets bowled or lbw shows he's attacking and bowling aggressively and effectively.

England's Tom Curran: "Watching the boys play the one-day cricket they have been playing has been a pleasure and it's a great feeling to be in and around the side. I've been training hard and to come and play the first ODI at this unbelievable stadium is fantastic. I did think we had enough runs."

What excites me is this seam attack wouldn't be playing if Mark Wood, Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett were fit. It shows that England, even when they are not playing their best cricket or their strongest side, are still a real match for anyone.

We've seen a resilient England who have not allowed themselves to be beaten even when defending a smaller total.

I think that's even more an impressive a win than the victories early in this series when England bashed the ball to all parts with the bat.

England's total was under par. They're without Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes but Tom Curran has stepped up.

The England players all go over to applaud their fans.
